Soup & A Sandwich!

Jerseydrew I like eating toasted bread with butter too with hot bowl of soup delicious

Pjran Delicious crispy bread !! I buy canned soup too but I get Aldi or Sainbsury’s own brand same with spaghetti hoops lol helps save money as they are cheaper

kitty88uk I have tried supermarket own branded soup but I prefer the Heinz one.

Pjran I see I guess Heinz soups the different flavours are stronger?

I haven’t had any of their soups in a long time

kitty88uk it’s all down to personal taste. I tend to buy them on offer and they keep for ages, just a store cupboard item.

Leannexxx I see what do you usually have for a meal? Only one a day?! Soups are delicious lol

kitty88uk depends on what I fancy lol I'm just not hungry in the day but when it comes to my tea I make up for it last night peri peri chicken kabab from Aldi with rice

kitty88uk peri peri king kebab was £5.79 the rice 68p each it does two people but I have it to myself

Went to Sainbsury’s on Sunday and saw they have their own brand cup a soup so got pack of chicken and vegetables one too, a pack of 5 sachets at £0.90! That’s 18p for one! Got it to try out, will have for lunch later

kitty88uk Years ago, it was only Heinz soup we ate. Until one day I noticed the lack of beef and chicken contents.

eyeballkerry haha we do the same thing! Yummy and simple meal for when we can’t be bothered to cook and it warms us up fast in cold weather!!

jam45 yes that’s true! I tried Sainbsury’s own brand vegetables cup a soup with croutons it’s nice but the branded ones the flavour is a bit stronger lol

But not bag for 90p with 4 sachets Bachelors beans has just 4 for think £1.50 or so

kitty88uk I agree with you regarding Bachelor's cup a soup. I buy it as a treat and not as an everyday soup.

Consumer that’s very simple lol isn’t it cold to eat a salad in this weather?

Whenever I have a ham sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers it’s too cold to hold them lol so I heat it for 30 seconds ok microwave lol

Simple, tastes great but not cold - I dish up my salad in the morning and eat it later at room temperature

I wash the lettuce then place a paper towel in a reusable box place then lettuce on top cover it and it absorbs the water so don’t get soggy sandwiches lol

caztoo I prefer to make mine on hob, doesn't take much longer and you can judge thickness. Wouldn't take much more fuel if any more. Mushroom or potato and Leek are my faves. Plus a soup maker doesn't make enough for several servings. I have one in back of cupboard, used twice!

caztoo I see that sounds good to have a soup maker! Can make any soup flavour with whatever food ingredients you like!!

Jackscot ooh sounds so delicious !! Wow you bake your own bread ? That’s great!! Saves you money! Do you bake in oven or use a bread maker machine?

Aenurse1 delicious I haven’t had tomato soup in a while I like chicken mushroom or vegetable soup I got some cup a soup pack of 5 sachets at 90p from Sainbsury’s lol it’s fast to make using boiled water and you instantly feel so much warmer especially in this freezing cold weather! Walking to supermarket wasn’t nice lol

kitty88uk I enjoy tuna & mayo, cold meats in my sandwiches and make my own soup with any veg that I have.
