Are Retailers Raising Prices Before January Sales?
Other
I was looking through some of the good deals and sales prices on here - then started to get a bit stroppy at the retailers- I have no idea how much the price of a certain product has changed throughout the year and if the prices are slowly increased throughout the year so they can do January sales. I have decided to pick a product that will be suitable as a gift and popular enough so that it wont disappear off the market completely and check it once a month- just my curiosity or the fact that I have 11 grandchildren!
Trouble is that if Christmas was moved back a month, the retailers would do the same with their sales.
blacklabrador I keep saying- next year I’m not doing Christmas I’m going to go on holiday. I think I’ve been saying that for about 5 years lol.
Maybe we ought to give everyone two birthdays like the queen used to have and the extra birthday would be instead of Christmas!
My other half said we should do Christmas day 2 days later and get all the presents on boxing day before of the sales it would be great if the kids didn't know what day Christmas day was on
martinlufc5637 I tend to get on the look out year round for sales rather then the traditional January and summer sales
If the sales stayed the same but the retailer would just have the sale in February instead
Jerseydrew so should we all have two birthdays and the extra one will be for Christmas presents lol
It wouldn't make any difference as everything else would just shuffle along too. I do buy gifts at half price in the sale and put by for Birthdays so a bit of saving there.
HEDGEHOGS i do too. Although when I was putting the wrapping paper, labels etc away I think I may have enough for two years !
suevernon1968 Haha I know where your coming from, I made a mental note that I must not buy any more cards either, what I have would probably outlive me .
Any Holiday Is not going to change because the retailers know they can add on or take off. If we have Christmas any time of the year then nothing Is going to change.
Whenever we had Christmas it would be the same. I solve the problem by buying the following years gifts in the January sales, mostly from Boots with 50% off.
