How to Make Your Scrambled Egg the Royal Way

Ask a Question

This is not quite eggs royale but definitely the royal way that the queen liked her scrambled eggs

She loved having scrambled eggs for breakfast

But she added two ingredients you would not normally use, these being lemon zest and nutmeg

It may sound strange but it worked for her

How do you take your eggs and would you try her recipe ?

martinlufc5637 that’s the only thing I add too . I used to add a bit of crushed black pepper . That was when I had a salt and pepper mill. I’m not a big pepper lover but when you use a pepper mill to grind the pepper it makes all the difference. However my mills are broken now and I haven’t got around to replacing them . Lol

Nickyhaslam77 I love a bit of pepper on anything N, get yourself a universal electric grinder , they don't cost much and you can use it to grind coffee beans , pepper kernels , nuts , herbs etc

Here's one i just found from argos, its half price at the moment

Nickyhaslam77 I don't like pepper at all, scrambled egg without salt is totally tasteless

martinlufc5637 true , a little dash of milk , pinch of salt (crushed pepper if available ) and hey presto give it a scramble and bon appetite!

I love poached eggs but they too need a pinch of salt to bring out the flavour. Mmmmm

Nah , this sounds awful I mean why would you want to zest lemon in scrambled eggs.. keep it simple salt and little butter, some add cream too. 😋

I used to love scrambled eggs plainly cooked with a little butter and salt but unfortunately, I developed an egg allergy so I can't eat them any more sorry to say.

I would try it, just to see what it tasted like. I am also pretty sure unless it tasted amazing I would not bother making them this way again. Royal eating sounds rather pretentious so not my kind of thing.

I think with the queen E it was a case of 'One knows what one wants' 😀

When it comes to scrambled eggs, I’m set in my ways. Just add milk and butter. I wouldn’t have it how the Queen liked it.
