Bought legitimately !! , who transports a sheep in the back of a normal car, it would be an animal trailer or transporter, so obviously stolen

I’m a sheep farmer . My husband went to sort two sheep without a trailer . He realised they needed bringing home so he put them in the back seats of a Ford Focus . He arrived on the drive with them in the back safe to say I was speechless . He thought it was ok because they had there belts on 
I suppose there are cases like your husbands M where some ingenuity is needed in emergencies
But with the vehicle in the story having no insurance etc i am willing to bet the sheep was stolen
Unless the vehicle owner told the police the sheep was driving
