Shopping Gift Cards Help?
Ask a Question
I’m still collecting points towards a voucher on a survey website
But I’m just wondering for shopping gift cards you don’t need to use/spend the whole amount in one shopping transaction right?
I’m thinking to use the gift card to part pay or pay the full amount for example paying for some groceries and using the leftover amount for another time so long as the gift card voucher has a long expiration date
No you don't need to use the whole amount in one go. I've done that with Asda and Amazon gift cards before. I've used them to pay for part of the order and then used it later to pay for something else. Just make sure you check how long the card lasts for.
Treat a gift card just like money, what you don't use will still be there to use at a later date .
I am so glad this subject came up as I often wondered if I might come across the same problem. I used my last few at Marks & Sparks treating myself to some lovely bath stuff, it felt all the better for not having to pay in cash
EmmaWright762 thank you glad that I’m not the only one wondering about gift cards
Oh how lovely I did think just choose cash via online into bank account not sure if there is an M&S gift card to choose from!
I need some new underwear lol ones I have are getting loose I always get from there as it’s good quality and lasts for a few years
No you don't need to spend all in one go. I think it's usually two years from last transaction. But check as company's are all different. I don't have this problem as I end up spending them straight away!
kitty88uk I've got Amazon gift cards from this site. I have started doing surveys to get more Amazon gift cards. I've also got one for John Lewis. It's the only way I can get anything online as my ex partner who I still live with doesn't like me doing online orders. I get all sorts of things toiletries, books, lots of art materials, painting by numbers, craft kits, energy drinks and I regularly get boxes of Antibacterial wipes. I've recently won a gift card for Selfridges with that I got myself some colouring pencils and a necklace. Plus I got birthday presents for my mum and nephew.
kitty88uk I don't know. Think it's a control thing. He doesn't want me to use my card online to pay for things. But then he doesn't want money coming out of his bank. Even light bulbs I had to get with a gift card I got for topping up my phone. It's his flat so im the one that has to move out.
They annoy the hell out of me as you can never find anything you want or need then forget about them!! Or they go bust
MelissaLee1 yes every has said that thanks just bought some snacks on Amazon lol and thinking to get an ottoman too
I recently won £200 love3shop vouchers in an Iceland comp but my local Iceland wouldn't take them (I did try a small purchase first). What I did find out is that you can exchange love2shop online for a voucher of your choice - conversion charges vary, it cost me £4.75 to convert £95 into Amazon.
lilyflower omg I did think to get them vouchers on a shopping receipts app but I always choose amazon vouchers lol recently changed that to cash via PayPal lol
What website did you use to exchange vouchers? Has no idea can do this!
Damn you lost out on £4.75 on conversion charges!
kitty88uk Yep, down £4.75 per £100 but the voucher is much more useful in Amazon as I have a few subscribe and saves. To exchange you go on love2shop www.love2shop.co.uk/ and register/login to your account and card, once there each card has an exchange box, click and decide what you want to exchange it for (28 e-gift cards, 19 dinning e-gift cards) so lots to choose from.
lilyflower yes there is so many items you can buy on there I’ve just bought some
Snacks lol hope they arrive fine! And I also buy books that I’m collecting too.
I see that’s good can exchange them I just don’t redeem love 2 shop vouchers it’s always Amazon vouchers haha
lilyflower what do you buy from amazon? Think you have to make sure that the items are all sold and dispatched by them to be able to use the gift cards!
Thought I’d come back and let you know
kitty88uk Your gift card balance covers ANY order on Amazon, the item does not have to be sold and dispatched direct by them. My latest order is from two different independents and the gift card covered the purchase. I like to build a good balance ready for Christmas
lilyflower is that so! Sure read terms and conditions it can’t be used by other sellers
Well good to know thanks
Buy anything nice?
What’s your current balance? Lol mines a lot thanks to this app’s rewards haha
