Shower Curtain Craze
Ask a Question
I have noticed a lot on social media sites people buying shower curtains featuring garden and beach scenes and putting them on their fences or sheds. Has anyone done that? If so does the illusion really work?
It’s not for me but I see a lot of it on media too. I think it probably could work well in some gardens if done well. Depends on the garden I think.
Not noticed this. No doubt will see it everywhere I go now. Sounds like it could work and be nice and brighten up a dull concreted area
MelissaLee1 Wouldn’t that be an eye sore. In your own personal space it’s up to you what you do but forcing it on others is a no, no in my book.
Leannexxx When I read your answer, I did laugh, I like your honesty. That’s what I was thinking, from a long distance they may look good but up close it’s a no no.
eyeballkerry they definitely don't look good close up not against a multicoloured 6ft fance lol it's a mess and I would not do it
I've got a beach scene on the spare bedroom wall with the treadmill going towards it. It doesn't look brilliant but is much more pleasant than looking out the window into a small high walled concrete yard.
lilyflower That sounds a better use of it. I used to a woodland mural on my bedroom wall. I absolutely loved it. It was in the bedroom so only my husband and I saw it and the paramedics who liked it as well.
I’ve seen this as well, in the pictures posted it looks pretty good in my opinion. However in person it may not be the same
jms19 Exactly what I was thinking. Probably look very different in real life. Maybe stick to using them for the purpose they were intended for.
eyeballkerry I know someone who is planning on doing it so I'll get to see how it is in real life soon, I hope for them it does look as good!
I've seen it and think it looks good but think it would fade quickly in the sun then look cheap and tacky
Imnotcheap Have you seen them in real life up close? I agree with that after a while they could fade with sun as well as get weathered.
eyeballkerry only seen of Facebook. I'd love to get out of varnishing fences but....
I brought one for my back wall, it's a beach scene as my diy skills are not brilliant when the wind blows which is often as it's a north facing garden it wobbles a bit and it looks like the sea rippeling. Its beats staring at a wall, all my neighbour's have said it looks great tho...
Pinkspirit I wouldn't do it because my garden is overlooked by both sides (neighbours) and my garage has seen better days.
I think they would perhaps brighten up a fence when first put up but would soon look shabby due to weather conditions. Not for the long term.
