Sleeping Difficulties

Hello everyone!
Did you know that yogurt is the key as I had a trial myself after work! Therefore any milk product will do the trick. Calcium found in dairy products will help the brain use the tryptophan found in dairy to help make sleep-inducing melatonin. Its actually helpful for people who suffer from insomnia.
As a child it was always hot milky chocolate before bed but if I had it now I would wake to do a wee during the night. Thank goodness I still wake
Its almost 5am, have been to bed, slept for a couple of hours, then wide awake, cup of tea, biscuit..tried to go back to sleep again,no such luck, now given up but just read the above. Right, getting yoghurt today, willing to try anything to avoid a repeat of tonight, worse bout of insomnia ever!
PatPritchard don't drink tea lol. It contains caffeine. Maybe not as much as coffee but enough to keep you awake if you are a bad sleeper. You should not drink tea or coffee after 1pm ish if you want a good night's sleep.
Lynibis i have the yoghurts, staying off caffeine, wish em luck for tonight. just had my covid booster so if theres a problem sleeping tonight i will blame it on that!
So the old wives tale of no cheese before bed or it will give you nightmares must be wrong. I get yoghurt everyday but can't say I noticedxa link with how I sleep.
I have never heard that one, so thanks for the tip. I have heard the one about cheese and having weird dreams, that happens to me!
Yes, I've heard that. Also, a bit extreme maybe but apparently an accupressure mat is good at relaxing the body and helping sleep. Yes it's a bed of spikes but no pain no gain!!
I'm not feeling hopeful TBH but I have a few yogurt in the fridge so guess its worth a try wish me luck
I never heard that one before, I will have to give it ago. I've had insomnia for decades it's horrible when all you want to do is sleep but can't.
I suffer dreadfully with insomnia but have never heard of trying yoghurt, will give it a go.
I have never heard of this before I have insomnia sometimes I get about 2 hrs sleep and totally exhausted will try this thanks
I don't suffer from insomnia, but I am a light sleeper and loud noises do wake me up easily. I am going to try this yoghurt method.
I’ve always drank milk and eaten yoghurts etc but still suffer with insomnia. My tea is decaffeinated- even my pop is decaffeinated. I was told not to try to hard to get back to sleep- cos it makes you brain tick over worrying about getting to sleep. Dont play with your phone or put the tv on. Get comfy and try reading a boring book. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m sure I heard years ago that lettuce is supposed to have something in it to help you switch off.
