Soap or Liquid Soap Which Do You Prefer?
Ask a Question
Do you prefer a bar of soap of liquid soap for washing your hands ?
I am a fan of liquid soap as I always think with soap you are touching the dirt/germs of the last person who has used it, however today I decided to use the soap from a gift set and found I washed my hands for longer, as it took a while for the soap to lather.
We have an automatic liquid dispenser which makes things so much easier and cleaner around the sink area.
eyeballkerry we had one but it stopped working and we could not get it to work again lol
There’s no way to like see if it’s working via battery
beccatavender I couldn’t live without mine now, wished we could have one in the kitchen but my sink overlooks a large window so no wall to hang it on.
I prefer liquid soap for hands. I think you can get a better lather and wash around the hands. Bar soap is still nice for a bath sometimes though if you get a nice one.
kitty88uk I probably wouldn't add water if it's antibacterial soaps - I'm not sure if it'll hinder the antibacterial effect, as well as, tap water has other minerals etc in it.
I usually do half / quarter pumps to save.
I added water to Aldi magnum platinum once because it was defectively gloopy, but gosh it made it worse. But I find in general, smaller pumps of any cleanser seem to clean better than pre added water - maybe I put too much water in? How much do you add?
kitty88uk Oh right, haha, my house does that, too - I thought you meant right after you opened it.
I read about it before, adding half water, like 10yrs ago - it didn't work so well then, but over the yrs, I just randomly test with an extra quarter of water, less, more etc , hoping I'll save.
slightfoot yes we do this too! But these days cause of rhe cold weather and washing hands a lot I have such bad dry skin! Lol I do use hand cream but doesn’t seem to work lol I have a lot of different creams to use!
kitty88uk I'm off to body shop this week to replenish fancy soap sticks with some vouchers I have
slightfoot soap sticks? Not heard of that only bars lol what do they look like and how much are they? Get any nice scented ones?
slightfoot haha whoops
Did you buy any good soaps then?
Was it birthday voucher you used?
The body shop is pricey!!

Yeah I got pack of hair clips would have cost me £5! I got the kids one lol use them at home for some reason got another £5 when I signed up so got another pack of 6 hair clips so didn’t cost me anything!

All the family like to use liquid soap as it’s more hygienic. I have soap bars which are stuck in a cupboard as no one wants to use them.
I also consider it more hygienic to use liquid soap but I use a bar of soap in the shower, although I am the only one who uses it as Mr T uses shower gel.
tumblespots yes I agree with you liquid ones lather up more and definitely more hygienic! Prefer to use soap bars that have no strong scent like Dettol ones you can even smell it downstairs lol
martinlufc5637 Until I decided to use up soap, is Ellimis, for me it was during Covid when I couldn't get liquid soap
It depends really, in a public space i always prefer liquid soap because you don’t know who’s used the bar of soap before you.
Pinkspirit I know what you mean lol
Dislike how soap bars can get very wet with water and becomes soggy lol
We uses both liquid soap for hand washing and bars for body washing. I look at it as we grew up with bars of soap and it didn't kill us !
I do prefer liquid I buy both my partner likes soap when in a long bath
I wouldn't like to use a soap bar in public places don't mind at home
MandyJones1 I would agree but I need to use up soaps included in gift sets, a bar of soap lasts ages
