Soaps - Fed up of the same storylines

I stopped watching Eastenders many years ago as I was getting so fed up with only the negative side of human behaviour being shown. Murder, rape, stealing, violence, deceit, shouting, adultery etc. All before the watershed i might add and making young people think it is ok to act in this manner. I was sick of it and it made me depressed watching so I just stopped and have never been tempted since that day.

I have cut out Corrie a lot but find Emmerdale hardest to let go but still hate the horrible examples of human behaviour so will end up dumping that too. I just wish there was a suitable alternative at that time of evening.

I stopped watching soaps 10 years ago! I was at uni and working, so I was out when they were on and tbh I didn't miss that I didn't know what was going on. My mum and MIL both watch them but both have complained about them recently.

Same here I have stopped watching soaps along time ago. I do have odd moments were I will watch coronation street but that's about it. I love to watch quiz shows and shows such as come dine with me and four in a bed.

I don't watch them at all as they are a bit silly and waste your time a lot. I prefer a good documentary or to use the time for reading or hobbies

Soaps can make people depressed with the continuous sad story lines over time.
