Would You Spend £425 for Christmas Dinner at the Fat Duck ?
Ask a Question
Ok it is a three star michelin restaurant and owned by Heston Blumenthal , but over a thousand pounds, if you add on the optional 12.5 sevice charge, per couple for a christmas dinner !!!
That is without drinks and no sign of any turkey
You do get ‘Botrytis Cinerea’ literally fungus , usually known as ‘grey mould’.
Sounds yummy, NOT
I think i will stick to home cooked and save myself a few bob and use the money for a holiday
It is very rare I eat out these days as it is. I have seen what goes on in the kitchens in restaurants as well and that can put you off for life!
Given the fact that Heston isn't known for his 'normal' dinners I wouldn't ever eat there and that's not adding (see what I did there!) the ridiculous price.
Definitely NOT. I wouldnt even spend £50 on a Christmas Day dinner eating out pp. Cheaper to make your own at home than be served some rubbish. At least you know what you`re getting.
Nope not my thing at all even if I did have the money. I just don't understand why some chef's have to mess about with food some times. I remember the other year he made mince pies that smelt like toilet cleaner
sallylester1Years ago, I watched his "cookery" show on BBC2, especially the one where he invented putting unusual fillings into a sponge cake. This method has been copied by all the supermarkets and restaurants (I think). Also the savoury flavoured ice cream, drinks, etc. I am glad that only rich people can afford to eat in his restaurant.
Rich people will pay just for the bragging rights, doubt many would have enjoyed their meal but pay up regardless.
We've never gone out and paid for Christmas dinner, we always go to our mother in law's for free
Nope not at all even if I had the money I still wouldn't pay it and the people that do need their head tested
Never what a waste of money. Christmas at home with chicken not turkey as it tastes better too. You don’t need to go crazy at Christmas it’s expensive enough.
