Ask a Question

🍬 What’s your budget for Halloween sweets for Trick or Treaters?

Do you get the good stuff, or do you go for the budget-friendly treats?

I will be buying a big bag of the Lidl own Haribo sweets and hoping no one comes to my door. Can't stand Halloween. I get sweets just in case but luckily no one has ever come to the door, long may it continue.

Normally get the big bags on mini haribo, and or mini Cadbury treat packets. No one comes knocking as don’t do a pumpkin anymore as too much mess so usually have to eat them..😋

Budget is nil. As we live in a busy area of town we now put a notice on door saying 'no trick or treaters' beforehand it was a non stop queue and I'm sure some walked round the block and came back night after night.

I've bought two large bags, think they cost about £5 for both. There are a huge amount of children where we are, many are my kids friends so we get loads of people coming here.

We have a few packets of Freddos, bought while on offer at a £1.00 so if anyone knocks they'll get these and if no then we get to eat them.

Get a cheap box of chocolates or sweets. We don't get many so make sure there's some and ones we like

My budget is nothing. I think it's a complete waste of money. I need my money for much more important things.

LyndaSarrington Yeah that’s right! Agree with you on this! If they want sweets buy it themselves pfft just an exercise to get it free from neighbours

No budget- stay in doors and ignore any callers we are not expecting. Luckily we dont get that many around here - Think we had one caller last year, just ignored them and they went away.

I don't buy anything. My neighbors are terrible don't want anything to do with them. I've got better things to spend my money on.

I live in the sticks so I don’t get anyone, but my friends kids I make wee bags up. Your only a kid once. I buy crisps, like a multi pack of chocolate Tesco does and some fruit.

I got 6 tubs of the Christmas chocolates and 10 big bags of Haribo stuff and mini gems and jelly babies but I get over a 100 coming so need a lot . I’ll bag them up and put a Halloween sticker on them

Think the total was £40 but I love doing it cos I did it as a child and my nephews too so it’s like giving back and the 100 or so kids that come are generally very polite and dressed up well . Kids deserve a treat .

I’ve lost track of how much I’ve spent lol. At least £300 on toys, sweets and treats so far.
