Steve Wright Has Passed Away at 69

Quite young.Rather sad that.Rest in peace.

Used to listen to him on Radio 1 when I was younger, but sounded dated on Radio 2 before he was sacked.

I didn't realize that he had been ill, so a bit of a shock.

Such a shame. I remember listening to him from my school days. Didn’t know he was sacked or ill. They didn’t say cause so could have been heart or accident maybe.

Steve Wright, what a sad loss to radio..

I always enjoyed Steve Wright on Radio 2 and earlier on Radio 1. I would typically put the radio on when doing jobs around the house and it was a great fun atmosphere, some decent music and a few laughs. Made the jobs I'm doing far more enjoyable. I think he was my all-time favourite DJ. I'm actually quite depressed that I won't hear his shows again. I've worked in a few places where a radio was on in the background or I'd be travelling with the car radio on in the past. I have to say about 95% of DJ's I find either uninteresting or irritating or sometimes both. I shall certainly miss him. I have to say he has not looked well in recent years but I wasn't expecting such an early death.

Very sad. Used to have him on at work. Kids loved having the radio on during after school club. Fridays with dj silly boy. loved Steve Wright growing up as well

Use to listen to him on radio 1 but not on radio 2

This is sad news and especially with the fact he pre-recorded his last show and it will never be aired. Plus saying he would be back next Sunday, it must has have happened so quick. RIP.

So young to have passed away , he was healthy and only suffered certain allergies , one to penicillin and also struggled with trying to lose weight
