Super Bowl
Other
Another night not sleeping lol no idea how this American Super Bowls Scores.. is there anyone watching.
I was going to watch it, but by 12 o'clock I couldn't stay awake, I've just watched it now
I’ve watched the superbowl for over 20 years but still don’t fully understand the rules. I usually watch for the half time show but when i found out it was Usher i decided to get an early night
I must admit that I couldn't care less about the superbowl. I know it is a big deal in America and that it makes them lots of money but I'm just not interested. The news seemed to care more about the fact that Taylor Swift was there rather than the actual game.
MrsCraig TBH with you I cannot either, just posted as there was nothing else to watch and was waiting for my mum to ring but sadly she passed away x
AnitaLogan Oh dear, that's sad. My condolences
I fell asleep just after kick off. Didn't it go on for like 5 hours? I did have a few quid on the Chiefs, so that was ok.
MrsCraig A lot just tune in solely for the ads.
Did you know Americans apparently spend more money on the Super Bowl than the Valentine's Day? Heard that on the radio.
MrsCraig Taylor Swift is in the news and not for good reasons.
Also, she's yet to publicly pay a tribute to Toby Keith because if it wasn't for him, she'd probably be an unknown singer.
RIP, Toby Keith.
Ah, Super Bowl, where they play real football, not the type that's ping-pong aka Soccer.
Haha, just kidding. I know fans sure get angry when their favorite sport gets called that word, but to be fair it was the Brits who invented the word Soccer.
www.history.com/news/why-do-some-people-call-it-soccer
The word soccer comes from a slang abbreviation of the word association, which British players of the day adapted as “assoc,” “assoccer” and eventually soccer or soccer football. (The habit of adding –er to nicknames in British vernacular is frequently attributed to Oxford students of that period, and can be found in other sporting slang such as “rugger” for rugby.)
Logically speaking, it does make more sense to call Soccer as Football, and NFL (American Football) as Handball or Aggressive Rugby.
