Supermarket Checkout.

Other

Don't you just love it when you are queued behind an overloaded trolley at the checkout for twenty minutes and it is ony when the customer needs to pay that they then get out their purse/wallet and grovel through every pocket to find vouchers and tokens which are invariably out of date or the wrong week,

I am not a very tollerant person at the best of times but this just drives me up the wall. 😬

I got annoyed today in the supermarket. 90% of the carpark was empty. Not exaggerating as it was about 20 minutes before school pick ups. Some woman shouts out the window of her car to see if I was going. I'd literally just shut the boot of the car and went to start moving the trolley. So rather then put the trolley where they get dumped. I walked right to the proper bay. It annoyed me because she was sat waiting for me to hurry when there were more spaces to park in then full spaces. She just wanted mine because there's no pillers to watch for when reversing in or out. So she drove off to another space in a huff

For me it’s just people can get their money/card ready whilst the till person is scanning their items. Anything to speed up the process benefits everyone

I've never actually been in that situation. Longest I've waited at the checkout is 5-10 minutes. I have all my loyalty cards and vouchers on my phone and always make sure I have them loaded up before I go to the checkout. I'm a pretty patient person so unless I'm in a rush I don't mind waiting.

I prefer to carry the self scan tool as I shop so I can pack the bags as I go then there’s rarely a queue at payment stage.

The only thing that really annoys me really is when someone realises they have forgotten something important and then runs off to find it for 30 seconds and brings it back so everyone is waiting which is completely inconsiderate to others. However I must admit I have done this myself once or twice over the years when I realise I haven't got quite enough items to use a voucher so I quickly grab something nearby I would use.

Generally I always try to be considerate to others and because of my height I'm always being asked by short people to pass down something from a high shelf. When I say 'always' I mean probably one in 20 shops rather than every shop. I also get requests to lift down heavy items for elderly people. In fact once the elderly person who asked me to bring it down from the shelf came behind me in the queue for the till and as expected asked me to put it on the conveyer belt for her. It was a six bottle pack of lemonade (2 litre bottles) I think. I like to be helpful so I never mind being asked.

I dont like supermarkets at the best of times but it does irritate me when someone is waiting for my space but parked in a way that I couldn’t get my car out if its space anyway!!

Maybe use self check out or order on line !! . Why such a rush to get in and out of the shop. For some people it's the only person they will interact with all day. Have some patience

I don't really find myself in this situation as I tend to use self service checkouts but probably wouldn't bother me if I had to wait a while unless I was timewatching my car parking.

I prefer self check out or online, sick of not enough till on and people who wait till they’ve packed every single thing then start looking for bank card etc drives me mad so i do big shop on line then call in for bits I use self checkout. I’m 74 so not a young impatient customer
