Takeaways
Ask a Question
Does anyone else have problems with getting the correct food you have ordered?
We have just ordered a Chinese, 2 meals and a fried rice and salt and pepper chips, def ordered as I heard my partner do the phone order, for him to come home with it and no chips.
I understand mistakes happen but takeaways are not cheap now, if we went back for the chips the takeaway is 15mins away and the food would of been cold
Well we ordered £50 of McDonald's and we got one happy meal and drinks that was it I was fuming and we could only get a refund back on the just eat account
If you order a Chinese over the phone they normally have a menu read the number and say it clearly, plus they normally repeat your order back to you to confirm.
I usually get the right food but a couple of Just Eat deliverys went mysteriously missing.I got a refund but it was late at night so went without dinner that night.I was well miffed.
we have had a few issues over the years but they have all been recitifed through Just Eats - usually in the form of a credit - bit of a pain when you want something but I accept that mistakes can and do happen. Has been pretty rare though.
Haven't ordered food delivery in years, I'd rather just get it myself and avoid the delivery + fees.
Plus, there are countless customers who said they had food missing or it was a small quantity (delivery drivers eating customer's food). Food missing happened to my sister a couple of times.
Three examples of drivers contaminating customers food:
It's not meant to put people off from food apps, it's just what could happen to them.
PhilipMarc oooo wow. Yeah we never get a delivery either, mainly because where we live and it’s quicker to collect
I have never actually ordered food for delivery, just order and pick up, always been fine.
Don't get them often. Thankfully we don't get mistakes. I dread it everytime I order a takeaway. I usually pre order mine though
Jerseydrew I’m the same now, dread it, it’s not often we get a takeaway, I love cooking but we have had a weeks off work and was a nice treat not to cook
possy it's nice but expensive I don't know how people can afford them regularly
Very rare we have a takeaway...Many years ago l I ordered some Chinese food from a place called LOVELY...
After waiting nearly 1.40 mins & being lied to on the phone I just took the food & gave him £10 instead of the £12.50 telling him he was lucky to get that !
My partner was worried that he would do something but we never heard back & have never used that takeaway since..
Daughter & I cook Chinese/ Thai/ Japanese style food , we have everything from Mirren to Miso sp we do a Fakeaway to our tastes..
janphoenix51 well done cooking your own foods it’s easier with having whatever ingredients you like! And much cheaper and can cook more to have leftovers the next day for lunch or dinner again lol
I have never ordered a take away in my life. I always have food in the home to cook so can not see the point. I will go out to a restaurant to have a nice meal with family and friends.
Pfft either they are damn careless or they are very busy I have worked in a family one it can get very chaotic!! Should have asap called them tell them and get money back! That’s so frustrating!! Argh
Our local Chinese is a few miles away, so delivery is quite expensive (£8 including a £2 tip). Food is always correct though.
We don't order takeaways often, once or twice a year but we've been lucky that they have always gotten our order correct. I remember down where we used to live they always got our McDonald's drive through order wrong, there was always something missing. I always check our order when we get it, especially if I'm collecting it.

A lot of the time, we are something short in our order. I never complain, but I think I need to start completing as it's happening too often
I ordered a KFC meal bundle via Uber Eats for my niece and her friends, everything was fine and sealed.
I gave the dude a tip of 50p, it might not seem much, but getting 50p here, 50p there adds up. Plus, I went down to get the order so he didn't have to come up the stairs.
My favourite takeaway is traditional fish and chips. I don’t have a deep fat fryer so it’s the only time I have proper chips.
