Taking off Your Socks on the Train?

Ask a Question

Would you take your socks off on public transport like a train or plane?

Cabinet minister Johnny Mercer travelled barefoot on a nearly three-hour train journey, an action No.10 has labelled as unacceptable. 🚉🦶

I wouldn't myself, but if his feet weren't mucky or smelly, what's the problem?

MelissaLee1 ...I do go around bare foot sometimes even though I have slippers & other footwear, I prefer it but I end up knocking & grazing my toes!

Oh my goodness me, are number 10 that desperate for attention that they're making a fuss over this. I could name many many many other things that their attention should be addressed at. I believe the term is 'attention wh**ing'.

I personally wouldn't take my shoes or socks off on a train or any other form of public transport. If his feet were clean and didn't smell then it's not a problem.

When travelling on a plane I never wear socks as my feet get too hot. If I remove my shoes, I then put my feet on top of my shoes. Problem is, my feet swell, then I can’t get my shoes back on.

That's disgusting and the smell, yikes.

I'd say it's even worse than inconsiderate people who blast their music than listen through their headphones.

Personally no chance. I hate being bare foot. Did any fellow travelers complain?

I watched a video from the youtube channel 'Everyday I'm Eating' and he went to Italy I think for a day trip flight and the passenger next to him took his shoes and socks off on the return trip and he wasn't pleased about it but don't think he said anything. Personally I would never take my shoes and socks off as I would see that as very rude and inconsiderate but basic manners are getting to be a rarity nowadays it seems.

My feet always ache from walking so if I had socks on I may just slip my feet out for a bit of comfort if noone was sat next to me,

I see no problem taking socks and shoes off while travelling as long as they’re not smelly.
