I have used TooGoodToGo app a couple of times now and it is really good. I highly recommend it!
Leftover food from that day are throw away every day by restaurants and bakeries.
With TooGoodToGo app you can pay for a portion which is approximelty around £3.
How it works is you allow the app to find your location so that you can check out all the restaurants and bakeries in your area. You select a place and your portion and then pay. You then have to go and collect the food at the specified time. You can either choose what you like or you get a bag already chosen by staff.

Sounds good and I've downloaded it, but it is like it's only in major cities. I'm not in the middle of nowhere and the nearest place I could find was 14km away!

This is great, thanks for sharing! I've just downloaded it and some of my favourite restaurants are on there so i'll definitely use.
I used to work at Sainsbury's Cafe and the amount of perfectly good waste we had to throw away each evening was awful. Meals, sandwiches, cakes, all sorts. Sometimes it was 2 big bin liners full. We weren't allowed to take anything away or even donate. Glad to see more things are being done to combat food waste!
I love this idea and I've seen some amazing quality 'leftovers' posted on FB recently. I loaded the app a few weeks ago but I'm a bit disappointed at the couple of options in my area. Hopefully the interest will grow and more businesses will sign up.
