How Do You Treat Gnat Bites?

Ask a Question

As we are all hoping for more sunshine and goodness forbid an actual summer in the UK could you share with me how you personally deal with gnat bites? Are you hyper sensitive to them and/or are you strong willed enough not to scratch them? Image

I’m not the one they go for, obviously dislike my perfume but germolene helps . I’m definitely one to scratch so try to put cream on to prevent scratching when I do go the odd one .

Anthasan (if that’s how it’s spelt) the best over the counter bite and sting cream! Take that from someone who’s blood is a gnats favourite meal 😂

lauren958 thats exactly why I was going to put !

I seem to be a gnat magnet. Ive also used some of those wristbands that gnats aren’t supposed to like ! Yeah right - as the the thickness of the wristbands make my wrists sweat even more its like I’m a gnat buffet lol.

I must say I’m very lucky, if that’s the word and never get bitten. For some reason they don’t like me. But when I was in Kenya they absolutely loved my pale friend, so I took her on holiday every time as my repellent!

I have been eaten alive this last couple of weeks, think this year is the worst for the little terrors. Oh I can't stop myself from scratching it's terrible. I find the old remedies are the best I use calamine lotion it cools and easies it for a while.

Last week I even used a spray repellent at night 🦟🦟

TCP is brilliant stuff. It stings first but it really clears things up. You can dilute it to be less stingy.

My husband has a bad reaction to certain insect bites so has to take an antihistamine.

Pjran I understand that if it swells up dangerously an a&e department can do an antihistamine jab.

I haven't been bitten that I'm aware of but would put some tea tree oil on bites (diluted in some water) 👍
