FIXED: Update Glitches

Good morning all

I am hoping that I am not the only one to have experienced the glitches this morning.

When I post anything, in any section, the screen remains the same (as if it hasn't been posted) although you can see the points increasing. I then have to check in a new page to see whether the post has been accepted.

Incidentally, once you have received all the points in any given section the next post, in the same section, seems to behave normally?!

The other strange thing I have noticed was when searching through posts, instead of getting a list of page numbers there was just one of those awful 'stretchy' page endings which means that you can't go to the end of the posts to find the oldest ones as it would take all day.

I am assuming that a major update went through to cause this?

If you have noticed anything else please add to this post and I am sure that Kelsey will take a look when he gets in later in the morning and everything will get back to normal quite quickly 🤞

When rating a product the count stays the same 25/25. I got to go to chat then back to rate to see If It registers. Also when I do rate a product I cant see the entire description below the picture If that makes sense.

Emerge11 You are right, I forgot about the rate numbers although they do 'work' albeit that you can't monitor it all the way through. I didn't notice it at first, then wondered why I had some quite a few and it still said 25/25, but when I did a refresh of the page it updated and then carried on as normal. On my laptop I have no problem seeing the whole description.

It is working fine now. I haven't had any of those problems when rating, posting comps or commenting on chat topics. Whatever the glitches were they must have fixed them.

tumblespots it must have done. I started using it at about 7.50am and it was fine then.

I was entering comps yesterday and noticed they were not being marked as entered, confusing when you do loads and keep forgetting which ones I've entered. Thought it may right itself but same today.

Lynibis The marking as entered is still a bit slow today too but if you refresh the page it usually appears. When I did the second and third 'rate' today they were much better than the first one was.

tumblespots yes I tried refreshing and logging out but still the same. Am going out for a couple of hours and will log off and turn off again and see how it is on my return.

Hey everyone, there was an issue yesterday afternoon and last night when I know Kelsey was doing an update which I flagged with him then so I think it is relates to this and it was also duplicating posts. However, it all seems ok now for me please let me know if you have any more issues? Thank you

Hey tumblespots I can confirm we are exploring the stretchy page instead of page numbers. May I ask, what is it you're trying to do by going to the last page of results? So we may consider how it may be possible to accommodate this?

tumblespots Thanks - Kelsey has updated it such that the stretchy page only applies to the homepage for logged in users.

You can now still navigate to a retailer's page, such as Amazon, and use the page numbers at the bottom: www.latestdeals.co.uk/retailers/amazon.co.uk

As all these bugs have now been fixed, I will close this chat thread.

Tom I did the same as Tumblespots and it will take me ages now as there are no page numbers at the bottom of the home pages.

julie781x If it's just to random expire old posts then I'd suggest picking a retailer, such as Amazon, and doing it from there. Retailer pages still have page numbers; www.latestdeals.co.uk/retailers/amazon.co.uk

I have just been looking through the vouchers posted today to check whether any that I have ready for tomorrow have already been used and I haven't got either a stretchy page or any page numbers so I can't see them all, I can only see 36 of them. Would you know what has happened please? Tom

As you can tell I am not a fan of stretchy pages.

If you are going to have to click on something then why not give the option of going back 10 pages, 20 pages, xx pages to see what happened before? With a stretchy page you just keep on going and going but it is a very slow process. When you know that you can see, perhaps, what happened an hour ago, two hours ago, a day ago, 5 days ago etc using page numbers is far easier because as you know you can make an adjustment to the url to look for a particular page. I really think stretchy pages are a detrimental step and they take away our choice of what we are allowed to view.

tumblespots Hi thank you for your feedback. To clarify, the 'stretchy' page at the moment is just on the main pages e.g. homepage, freebies, competitions. Each time it loads another set of posts just as it would have done if you pressed "page 2" etc. It will do this 3 times, before showing a button to continue so it doesn't go on forever.

We're testing whether this encourages more people to look at the next page of deals. I think you may be one of the super rare exceptions who actually click "page 2, 3, 4". Behind-the-scenes we see very few click this and rather just stop. So, in an effort to help get your posts more views and engagement, we're trialing the stretchy page that automatically shows more posts a few times.

Our intention is to hopefully showcase more member posts to readers who would otherwise stop once they got to the bottom. 🤞

Tom I use it like tumblespots and I did go through the pages. Now it’s just takes too long. so won’t be able to do.

Thanks tumblesspots I just came here on chat mostly I don’t ,I also had a problem posting 2 deals last night after posting page was frozen then I checked on app deal was posted this morning deals went fine another thing on app all day I can only see some specific deals stayed all day on foryou page ,for popular page have to refresh page so many times hope Kelsey will see whenever they gets free time many thanks 😊
