Here is a sneak peek of upcoming features and changes:

Image

Get points for Profile Picture

You will get bonus points for uploading a profile picture. This applies to existing members and new members. If you have already uploaded a profile picture, you will also get bonus points the next time you change it. LatestDeals.co.uk is a genuine money-saving community, and Profile Picture helps encourage more discussion. It's nice to put a face to a name!

Image

Level up with Checklist

You will get a new points Checklist. See everything you can earn bonus points for. Whizz through it to level up even faster. For new members, more bonus rewards are now available.

Image

Get Bonus Points for Logging into the Latest Deals App

You will get bonus points the first time you login to the Latest Deals app. The Latest Deals app is free on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It has many exclusive features such as Deal Alerts and Supermarket Price Comparison.

Image

Compare Prices at Co-op Supermarket

On the Latest Deals app, the Supermarket Price Comparison tool will now support Co-op. This brings total supermarkets supported to 9: Aldi, ASDA, Co-op, Iceland, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose. The tool is free.

Image

Get Notifications When Someone Comments

On the Latest Deals app, you can now get push notifications when someone comments, mentions you, likes your deal and more. You can customise these notifications in Settings of the app. This helps you reply to any questions and see the love your post is receiving!

Image

Trial: Removing Points for Likes to Encourage Genuine Feedback

You will no longer be able to earn points for pressing 'Like' on a post. This is a trial. We want to see if it encourages genuine feedback, rather than pressing 'Like' on anything to get points. New members will get a bonus of points the first time they press on Like.

Shocking ! we may even see the most "liked" deals are actually the best deals ๐Ÿ™„ as "sheep liking " for points should become a thing of the past ?

I'm a moaner on here and happy in real life . Perhaps those (miserable in real life ) feel happier and warm inside through "sheep liking " and feeling part of the flock ? If so I am obviously sorry for campaigning long and hard for "liking" points to be discontinued .

Perhaps when you realise the "most liked " deals are in future "real deals" then you will thank us "unhappy " people ?

ch7leach hey, you may need to update the app to the latest version, which you can do via the app store by searching โ€œLatest Dealsโ€ and pressing update. It may also update automatically.

Then, go to Menu > Points > Points Checklist

Tom seem to have the updated app, but doing as you said shows a different screen to what o saw when posting that message. Suggest points for liking posts and deals still. I can't find it manually.

ch7leach hey, that may have been the old screen before it was updated ๐Ÿ‘ If you do find it again please do share a screenshot. Otherwise hopefully all good now.

Most online supermarket orders have to be placed they day before they are going to be delivered.

But we are not allowed to post deals that start tomorrow.

So if we have an order that's due to be delivered tomorrow, and there is a deal which people can get tomorrow such as a tesco clubcard deal, we can end up missing out entirely, or even paying more because all of this rule.

This is not logical at all. It means that we lose a whole day.

So why not allow deals for supermarkets that start the next day?

I even had 100 points deducted from me because I shared a deal that started the next day (which was about 6 hours away), that I posted so that anyone who has an order that day could get the deal that night.

Image

Then someone else posted the same deal a few minutes after midnight, basically copying my deal which was online for a short while before it was removed. Surely since I posted it first, it would be fair to restore my post, but I was told it already existed.

This situation doesn't encourage me give my time and effort to post more deals, quite the opposite.

Because the "usual suspects " post 2 each and every day for the points - gets very tiresome when the same members post two every day solely for the points ๐Ÿ˜’

Tom Kelsey I would want latest deal to also consider removing the points system for popular comment as in 3 likes on your comment gets 20 points.

Its really ridiculous the amount of people misusing and taking advantage of this to gain bonus points. Especially in chat topics.

where group of people who are pals are just liking each others comments so everyone in the group get the 3 likes. im sorry if i offend anyone but its being very misused when people just comment good morning/ good night / add a gif and that gets popular comment. like wth seriously.

I wont name names of which topics but some of you will know which chats im talking about. hope others would agree.

UKstar As one of the regular users of the gif thread which you seem to be referring to, I'm not offended by your comment, but I am going to point out that I don't think your assumptions about the activity in there are correct. If you don't like/agree with bonus points for popular comments then that's fine, I'm sure LD will appreciate your feedback. But I don't believe anyone in there participates just to get points.

If I see a comment I like anywhere on the site, I hit the like button. I don't think about how many likes that comment already has, or whether that person is going to get bonus points as a result of me liking that comment. I think about the fact that that person is going to know that someone likes their comment, or appreciates their comment, or finds it amusing/entertaining/interesting, etc. I think that's a nice thing, a positive thing.

I participate in the gif thread because I enjoy it, and because I genuinely like everyone in there. I like the way we interact in there, expressing our moods/feelings with gifs, chatting about our day or anything else we feel like and generally having fun.

I visit that thread every day, interacting with the group in there has become a little part of my routine when I'm on here, and I have so much fun with them. That's why I'm there, and obviously I can't speak for other people, but I like to think that the members that use that thread do so for similar reasons to me- not because they're hoping to get points out of it.

Over time we've all become very friendly in the gif thread, we enjoy chatting to each other and we all obviously enjoy using gifs in there- so when I use the like button it's because I genuinely like their comments and gifs. I wouldn't participate in that thread if I didn't, and I certainly wouldn't participate if I thought others in there were just interacting with me to cash in on bonus points.

I'm not going to stop hitting the like button on comments I genuinely like. What comes next (bonus points) is down to LD. I've given your comment a like- although I don't share your opinion, I appreciate the fact that you chose to write a polite comment, rather than a rude one.

There are plenty of people on here who do abuse the site- people with multiple accounts, people who deliberately report incorrectly, people in the chat section or comments who try to bully others, etc. And I'm sure there are people who do things just to get points- like posting vouchers shortly before they're due to expire, or previously, hitting the like button on the first thing they see on the trending page. But I honestly don't believe there's anything like that going on in the Gif thread. We've created a fun, friendly, welcoming atmosphere in there, and I'm proud to be a part of that. Quite often these days there seems to be some kind of rude/unpleasant/unkind behaviour going on in other chat topics, but not the Gif one- and that's the real reason it keeps going, in my opinion, and the reason I like that thread so much.

Apologies if I've rambled on a bit here, this turned out longer than I expected.

angelik that was long but I read till the end. Im glad you like that chat topic and you enjoy being part of it. That's fine. I'm not saying to close that chat. Far from it.

My issue is regarding people misusing the popular comments points. I'm happy your not offended and use the like comments as it should. But like you said yourself and agree there are people who take advantage just for the points and I used that chat as a example as it's very obvious and has many times been joked about that to get extra points just join the gif group. It may not be true to you but to others that's what it seems or looks like.

Basically in short. The real point is. if you are not misusing the points system then removing that shouldn't effect you and it wouldn't be a problem. Just like the likes button for deals to get on popular page been removed. Which I'm happy with the same should be done with liking comments to stop people taking advantage of it. Points should only be given when you post something as that is really contributing to the site. Hope that clears what I meant. Take care

Would it be possible to have a button to block social media comps?

MAC1 thank you for your comment. You can filter competitions. On mobile, when youโ€™re on the competition page at the top is a filter button. Here you can select competitions that are not social media. For example, websites, or email competitions. Hope this helps ๐Ÿ‘

If you are using a computer, the filter button is in the left hand side bar.

Hi guys, I know what you're saying but I lost the previous points I had collected before my last mobile decided to take swimming lessons in the washing machine (didn't end well )๐Ÿ˜‚

I do have an issue though.

I use the app for Latest deals a lot but when you try to purchase the item that was advertised, it suddenly shoots up in price. What gives? Is it the advertising drives the price up.?

Just thought I would ask.

Many of the deals have a short time span (particularly Amazon Lightning Deals ) . Unfortunately many members do not expire their deals when the price changes . Always double check the current price before trying to purchase . Same with the website you must always double check .

Xaxkya hello thank you for your comment. If the final price (without delivery) is different, then the deal is probably expired. You can report a deal as expired by pressing the three dots โ€œโ€ฆโ€ > Report.

Ajman2001 I will willingly donate my points to you or any charity you suggest . Just one condition ๐Ÿ˜€ . You qualify any "like " you click with a comment stating why you "like" the deal . Is that fair ?

Or did you prefer earning points for clicking "like" on the first 5 deals you came across (probably without even reading them ? ) each and every day ?

Do we have a deal ?

I quite liked the fact you got a few points for liking. it encouraged me to go through the items, and try them. my bug bear is that you stopped me from reporting expired deals and I have no idea why, which is very frustrating because I used to check them when I went for a deal. I don't supposed you will answer this, or put back my ability to 'report' posts, but I would have liked to know what I did, when you actively encouraged us to report posts which where expired.

Morning ๐Ÿ™‚ If you could drop us a message via the contact form someone will be able to look into this for you ๐Ÿ‘

Typically the system will automatically restrict a member's ability to report after a number of incorrect reports. However, this can often be down to a simple misunderstanding as to how the report system works (e.g. mistakenly using the wrong type of report for a post). I'll readily admit it isn't always obvious what to use so in these cases we're happy to review the restriction and perhaps explain the misunderstanding!

Kelsey I have tried but I'm not getting any response. The problem with this system Kelsey is, when I reported each and everyone, they were all done for a reason, and where either out of date, or wrong, or something up with them. I haven't made a 'false' or incorrect report at all but, some how, some of my reports where rejected as incorrect but I know, hand on heart they where all correct because I thoroughly checked. I did it to help the site and keep things up to date, I wouldn't do it, with malice, or for any other reason, than to help. if I contact you can you please alter it because it frustrates me when I see these expired or wrong claims or deals and they are not, but I cannot do anything about it.
