Have You Visited a Good Xmas Market This Season?

Ask a Question

Have you been to a Xmas market that is worth visiting this season? I have been to a couple, which were just disappointing. Tbh I prefer the ones they have abroad. London markets just don‘t seem to exude the Xmas magic that I have found in France and Germany

Ive done Birmingham and Exeter. I never really buy anything its more the atmosphere, and the drinking. Id like to go to Winter Wonderland in London

yes I believe it’s the atmosphere that’s best also, as prices are often so inflated. I saw a video of the Birmingham one which looks much bigger than the one in London. The one in London looks good, but it’s so crowded and expensive

hspexy the Birmingham one was just all along New Street and a tent by the Bullring, it was way too crowded for me but there were some lovely german stalls

hspexy if you don't mind the coach, the national express is quite reasonable

Over the years I’ve visited a few Manchester Leeds Belfast Edinburgh Liverpool but to be honest I think they all are getting pretty boring now. It’s the same things at everyone

yes, I can imagine it’s pretty much the same stuff, especially here in the uk. I guess it’s probably more for the kids

My best friend and I took my son to the one in Edinburgh last week. We only walked around for 5 minutes then went inside as it was too windy and cold to have my wee man outside for too long. The market was the same as usual. I like walking around them but don't need to buy anything as it is so expensive.

We’re going to one in Edinburgh this weekend, we went a couple of years ago and it was amazing - tops Glasgow by 100%! Glasgow’s is always packed, you can barely move and everything is crammed together in a small space. Edinburgh is really spread out, great variety of stands and you don’t feel like a sardine! I’ve been to the German Christmas market in Southampton many times and also in Germany and I found they were identical! Went all the way to Germany to find I could’ve just gone to Southampton 🤣

Usually go to the Edinburgh one every year with my friend but haven't bothered this year, We are going to a German xmas market this weekend instead. I visited the York xmas market a couple weeks ago with the other half. Wasnt impressed! Nice atmosphere tho. I loved York itself tho it is stunning., much prefered browsing around the shops. X

Not yet, but I usually go to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Although, I tend to only buy food and drink at Christmas Markets.

Same here. All I want is to try out the festive snacks and beverages, usually stuff that is a bit naughty and nice 😜

I've been to Edinburgh Christmas Market this year and i was actually disappointed. Over 50% of the market is repeats and expensive. Pretty boring, i spent more time in shops on Princess street.

If you’re willing to travel then Witcher Cathedral Christmas Market is beautiful. To sell there the huts are very expensive so that’s reflected in the price of the goods but it’s beautiful to pass an afternoon especially if it’s dry.

Pjran always good when it’s recommended 😊 It’s a touch far for me to travel, especially as in bad weather, but I like seeing interesting places

Christmas market? Haven't seen any and they're all getting replaced with "Happy Holidays" theme, anyway.

I visited the Christmas Market in Vilnius, Lithuania last week.

It was lovely; not at all crowded, very cheap and a nice range of products.

But by god it was cold!
