How Many People Have Visited India and How Many Want to Go There?
Ask a Question
How many belong to India and who like India and who want to visit atleast once to India ?
I have visited India around 16 times. We have not been back since just before covid. Loved it.
julie781x that’s very impressive! Which part was the best for beaches and lovely food?
jillylovesyou The south of Goa for the beaches there are some stunning beach huts to stay in. Paloem was our favourite. Went for 4 days and stayed for 10. Some lovely restaurants and the high end ones were really cheap for example £3 for starter and main courses around £5. . The typical Indian foods were about a tenner for both of us. There was a samosa man who came round and it worked out about 7 pence and they were gorgeous. North Goa is busier but great to get all or shopping but we always did both. Some stunning restaurants in the north too many to choose from.
Himalayan products are really cheap and if you are into Yoga then lots of Yoga schools around.
We did cookery classes and made 5 different dishes plus naan bread for £15 including drinks and eating your food you have made.
Crab catching was another collecting baskets on a boat and then eating them afterwards . Went to a wilderness resort and there was all inclusive food and drink and hikes . Also henna tattoos and a show on the evening. Infinity pool overlooking Forrest’s and we stayed in a log cabin. There were monkeys , giant red squirrels and loads of beautiful birds. Went on a rice boat overnight and so some lovely sights and we had a crew that cooked for the three of us. Didn’t want to get off the boat. Staff were really great . The north is Candolim , Calangute and baga and there are others in between.
I could go on and on lol
julie781x thanks so much, great information. It all sounds fantastic. Sounds worth going for at least a month. Did you book independently?I have screenshot the above
jillylovesyou Yes we went independently after a few years. We preferred to fly with qatar and had a stop over for 2.5 hrs then on to Dabolim. I even think there is a new airport now. Stayed in smaller places . The first time stayed in a hotel and wasn’t keen. We then found places whilst we were out there. We did lots of research on staying at places and things to do. Think it might have changed since the last year we went . ( year before covid) . It is so relaxed out there and never wear white lol. It’s a bit if a shock arriving at the airport as they are all trying to grab your bag at the airport. But we have a few taxi drivers numbers we used and they picked us up at the airport to our accommodation.
travel light as there are loads of laundrettes that will wash your laundry and they are very good. We did a month last time and stayed in two places South and then North for the rest and shopping lol You are either going to love it or hate it though. We fell in love with it .
I've heard nothing but bad things about going to India, so it's somewhere we have never fancied going, we tend to stick to what we know and Turkey is always somewhere we go and recommend
martinlufc5637 We used to go to Turkey many years ago until we found India. A friend recommended India so we thought we would give it a go. It’s really lovely and the food is amazing and so cheap. There are lots of amazing sights to see and wonderful people. We have made so many Indian friends . Obviously there is bad ones but that the same World wise including the UK.
martinlufc5637. Its not true that whatever we hear ....try to visit ...many things there to explore ....
I would love to go there. All the beautiful places, the fabulous colours. But my husband flat out refuses to even consider it.
I have an Indian friend, she is like an adopted daughter and we are her English parents. We would love to see where she lives and meet her real parents. I have heard good and bad things about India.
I plan to travel to India at least once in my lifetime as i have many Indian friends and also would love to see the country
I spent time on an Ashram in Delhi and stayed in a nice hotel there.I absolutely loved it.I also went to Goa many years later..very different but still great. It's rich in sound and colour and vibrant with life.
We've visited Goa six times and we love it. We went for seven weeks one time, hired a car and drove to lots of nice places. Be warned though it's not the easiest place to drive.
I've been to India 5 times. I went to the Taj Mahal 30 yrs ago and it was so beautiful. These days there are too many touts outside. When you want to look around outdoor markets it can be scary. A bunch of Indian women were following me very closely and I kept my hand on my handbag. I couldn't shake them off so I went into an upmarket store where they weren't allowed in. The airports are bad when arriving and departing. It has put me off returning and I would say to anyone going, do lots of research, find out about hotels and be careful of taxi drivers.
sathiyaramasamy The airport arriving and departing was the worst. The airport never had enough staff at the main desks. On my last visit it took so long to get into the airport, I thought I was going to miss my flight to get home.
Been to India a few times for work and holidays it's great place to visit food is great a few times for work I stayed with a India family could not ask for better people
My parents have been and they loved it. Our friends fiancée is from India so they visit a lot to see her family. He says it is great.
I've never been, not somewhere I ever really wanted to visit, I don't do well in hot weather, nor does my husband.
MrsCraig can try in jan month ...can manage because the weather will be like light
sathiyaramasamy wouldn't work due to when our holidays from work are. Plus couldn't afford it either.
I've never been and never really felt any kind of way about it but now reading all these lovely comments about India, I may have been persuaded!
