The 'We Aren't Sending These out Anymore Due to Demand' Thread
Freebies
What does everyone think of there being a thread where when one of us gets the 'we are not sending out free samples and if it wasn't for those pesky meddling freebie sites, you wouldn't have heard of it and we can't cope with demand' emails. I seem to get one of these emails every day now, moaning about how they are not doing free samples (when clearly on their website they are) and how did I get the link or naming certain sites who shouldn't have shared the link, etc. I'm thinking if there's a thread, when I get one of these emails, I can just cut and paste it here, That way it saves other people the time and trouble of applying for freebies which are no longer available.
Here's the latest hot from outlook:
Thank you for contacting www.brasense.co.uk to request a starter pack. We are currently experiencing high demand for the starter pack due to its inclusion on 'freebie' websites. We are unable to accept any further requests until further notice. In the meantime, please do call us on 01530 274840 or email service@brasense.co.uk for any further help or advice regarding the Bra Sense service. We thank you for your enquiry and your interest. We are simply unable to cope with the demand the freebie websites have placed upon the starter pack offer.
Thank you once again for your interest.

And whilst I'm on my soapbox, I've had so many of these emails since I started freebie hunting. Websites which clearly state they give free samples, then backtracking and blaming freebie sites for sharing the links. My opinion is if you don't want people to apply for free samples, then don't create a web page saying 'free samples available, fill this form in'. People will come and apply. If you only have a limited number state 'only 300 available, first come, first served', then take the page down! Put a new one up saying 'all samples gone, thank you for your interest'. It's not rocket science. Sending out passive/agressive emails blaming other websites for sharing when really I think these companies ought to take a bit of personal responsibility when putting up pages saying 'free samples', then backtracking.
I think that it is possible for replies from linked sites to be blocked. I am technologically illiterate but I remember a comment on Hot Deals once about competitions that you couldn't enter through sharing sites. It is less common now as they seem happier for comps to be shared (which seems understandable). That may be an answer for this lady. I do have some sympathy for her.
With there being so much sharing, people making multiple applications etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of companies giving them reducing quite a bit unless they see a real return from it.
I had the same email about the sunflowers seeds but have received another today saying that i will receive shortly. Agree why not limit the number of free samples they are giving away and then stating that they had all gone. I think more and more people are appliying for freebies, im very good and only apply for ones i know i want or will use, but there are people out there applying more than once and for things they wont use.
sarahtwinmom There's plenty of people ordering multiple times. I spot that all the time on facebook. If it was me, I'd clearly state 'this item is avaible for a small donation' or 'there's x number of samples and once they are gone, that's it' and close the page when the target it hit. I was getting fed up of getting emails everyday either generic mass send outs or to me directly asking how I heard of it and can I tell them the link. I thought every time I get one, I could post it here and before applying for freebies, people might want and check to see if it still open. I do post under the freebies when the link don't work etc, but this one shows exactly why the free sample no longer exists.
here's the latest email. It's not cancelled due to demand, but on a similiar theme. I know lots of people applied and not everyone got an email telling them what was happening to their order. This is from Damart in regards to the coat offer, which was not really an offer.
Dear *name removed by me for my privacy*

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Bookmark That. Unfortunately, I will not be sending out any bookmarks which have been requested via Latest Free Stuff UK.
Please note the following:
- I am a book blogger, not a registered company. Bookmark That is one, individual person who offers free bookmarks to those who have been approached and have a genuine desire to own one and interest in my blog.
- Latest Free Stuff UK did NOT have permission to post about my blog. As I say, I am not a company, just a plain old blogger who has been going for only seven months!
- The website clearly states that they only advertise genuine freebies from companies. I apologise that they have misled you.
- I pay for everything myself; from the bookmarks, the postage, the website, to the email address you are receiving this from.
- In the two hours my website was live and the link shared on Latest Free Stuff UK, I received over 250 requests. This would cost me, personally, over £200 to fulfil.
- The option to ‘request’ a bookmark has now been taken down until further notice. I offer these for free to those with genuine interest in my blog and I am extremely disheartened that this has been taken out of my hands.
I am sure you can understand that I am very apologetic that this has happened. Actions have been taken to ensure this does not happen again, and legal actions are proceeding with Latest Free Stuff UK.
If you are genuinely interested in receiving a bookmark, book reviews and recommendations, please follow me on these platforms and interact with me so I can send you one out when this fiasco is sorted:
Twitter - https://twitter.com/bookmarkthatuk
Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/bookmarkthatuk/
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/bookmarkthatuk/
I do hope this does not affect the way you perceive my blog. This is a hobby which I love, and again, I am deeply sorry that I will not be able to send you a bookmark at this time. Your details provided on my website have been securely removed.
If you would like further information, please just reply to this email and I will respond as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Nicole

Dear Shelly
Thanks for applying for a free sample of Gourmet Gold Melting Heart.
To be eligible, entrants must have received a personal V.I.C Club Email on 5th February 2018, and be a registered member before that date in order to qualify for the offer. To view the full Terms & Conditions, you can click here.
Unfortunately, it appears the offer has been shared among 3rd party agencies whom we have no affiliation with. This has resulted in some ineligible V.I.C Club members & non-members becoming aware of the promotion. As you had not received a personal V.I.C Club email on 5th February 2018 we are sorry to say that we are unable to provide you with a free sample.
Please continue to keep an eye out as we’ll have more Gourmet offers & news to share.
Yours sincerely,
Gourmet
here's another one. I got confirmation emails etc, but I knew it was a publicity drive and a con.
