How Reliable Are Weather Forecasts?

Other

Is it me or are the weather forecasts about 50/50 correct. I could just randomly guess and be right. Weve had zero snow despite repeated warnings it was coming. Today was supposed to be heavy rain and we had sunshine.

ANyone else feel the forecasts are terrible?

HappyComperZoe lol 😝 I agree with you on this! On days it says will rain 🌧 but then it doesn’t which is annoying

I have two tops soaking in a tub that needs to be rinsed throughly and taken out to dry! Says will rain now just grey skies I’ll have to wait and see!

Listen to it but don't take it as literal. It's often wrong

I don't know why we pay anyone to publish a weather forecast because unless the country is getting the same weather all over for days on end they are wrong!

I look at the forecast and see that there will be no rain in the week ahead only to find later on that it will rain - so where did these clouds come from and why didn't they know they were there??

I think it would be best if they were all sacked and we all just looked out of the window because it is so frustrating!

The forecast are wrong 99% of the time where I live. I don't understand why with alot more technology then we use to have why are the weather forecasts so wrong. I notice in the north you don't get as many weather warnings as in the south even though on average the weather is worse here. You can have winds of 80mph and no weather warning it probably won't even be forcast but in the south you could have 50mph winds and get a weather warning. I don't get how it all works.

They are only a guide, never 100% accurate. Often wrong. Look out the window or I check my radar app for rain or storms.

I don't take notice of weather forecasts on the news for example, and weather apps aren't much good either, I just look out of the window and guess lol

I never check the weather forecast, I just look out the window in the morning. We went away to the Isle of Wight last week and my husband checked the weather before we went. It said sunshine which we had one day out of seven.

Waste of time even checking, the amount of times I’ve made plans as it says dry, only for it to pour it down.

The forecast is generally accurate for a couple of days but anything beyond that isn't so easy to predict particularly for this country and the various factors that affect it. Don't rely upon any scare mongering forecasts within the tabloid press because they are nearly always vastly exaggerated just to get your attention. I could name particular tabloids but my post will probably get taken down but they know who they are.

To be honest it’s usually about 30-40% wrong but they say we’re one of the hardest countries to get it right due to being a smallish island

I dont find the weather forecasts reliable at all,its just a guessing for them they rarely get it right .. im still waiting for the indian summer they predicted about 10 years ago and the really bad snow they keep forecasting,l personally have stopped listening to their waffle and just take each day as it comes 😁

I never trust the weather either. Possibly it may be accurate about a country, but rarely accurate about where you are in the country lol.
