9th December 2016 - Bash
Warrior Bash continues to smash the charts with his relentless competitions. He has posted over 1,000 competitions and almost 400 deals. In the last month, over 6,100 people have entered competitions he has shared, and he has made that the second most popular part of the site, after Deals. Please, if anyone finds some comps, post them to help!
2nd December 2016 - Bash
Samuari is Bash's middle name. Deals, vouchers and competitions are his weapons of choice. Some say he can recount the name and price of everything he's ever posted. Others say that he's actually the Go Compare man.
25th November 2016 - Bash
Congratulations to Bash for winning the Top Contributor prize two weeks in a row, in a hotly contested Black Friday week! There is a theory that he sleeps upside down so that his arms hang from the ceiling and fingers continue to post deals. Others say his army of Star Wars memorabilia do the work for him. Either way, a big thank you from Tom, Kelsey and Deepak!
18th November 2016 - Bash
Well done and thank you to Bash this week for winning our top contributor! He went on a competition frenzy, posting almost 10 a day, plus voucher codes and more. Last time Bash tried to turn down our humble prize, but we'll have none of it this time. Thank you again Bash for being a part of LD!

14th October 2016 - Bestoffer
Bestoffer (AKA mojoshorthouse) came from Pedlar and has been our dedicated night owl. Some say he posts in his sleep. Others say he posts when he drives. Either way he's a star contributor and adds great character to LD.
7th October 2016 - Bash
Bash... Latest Deals just wouldn't be the same without him. Like a strict headmaster driving you towards perfection, you know you've done well when he gives a rare thumbs-up. Hugely valued, his attention to detail, relentless pursuit of deals and competitions, chat, Twitter, secret missions and more is immensely appreciated.
Awwww u guysssss Thankyou so much for the kind words! So happy to be a part of the LD โ journey. Can't wait see what's more instore ((((( BIG HUGS ))))))
Thanks Tom. It's great to see latestdeals.co.uk growing and improving daily! Great job.
Congratulations deal hunters and LD team! Sarah
Congrats to Bash
IMO, this year's UK Black Friday was very underwhelming. Then again, Black Friday is an American tradition so it's not much of a surprise that it sucked.
For some reason "Boxing Day" still makes me think of Rocky and... boxing. Despite that it has nothing to do with either of those things. lol
Something weird going on with leaderboard... there's someone on there who hasn't posted any deals!
Thanks Jackinatorz69, this is probably because we just reset it. When it resets it shows 5 people at random, then, those who continue to post deals move to the top. If you have a look now it's already the top contributors.
Tom Thank u soo much for those motivational words to keep me going ..... .Actually enjoying it and happy to be a part of the LD journey
Congrats meghzzzdeals well deserved and good to see somebody other than Bash win for once
Congratulations to Bash and Johnny for winning the leaderboard prizes recently
To try and mix it up, we're going to try a new thing where you can't win twice in a row. Bash, we're going to create a Hall of Fame badge and give it to you for winning the leaderboard an astonishing 8 times (probably more, in fact)
As you won this week, we're going to hide you from the leaderboard, and then you'll be back next week. All your stats still add up. Does that make sense? Please just say if you have questions or disagree with this
I actually prefer not being up there because I don't like having attention drawn to me in anyway.
Right now, there isn't much competition so it's not difficult to be up there. Maybe it will encourage others to post more if they think they have a more of a chance to reach #1 and not see the same profile week after week. If anybody does want to get up there just help out with the competition section as well as the deals.
It's nice that LD has these incentives but it's always Bash which I don't mean for this to be taken wrong but it's always the same person. He deserves it as he's the top poster but for newcomers they'll be like "Why is this guy always the one winning?".
Just for the record, I haven't actually won anything. Tom did try twice to offer me a prize in the beginning but I turned it down and told him to stop offering because I wouldn't accept it.
Tom Small incentives are always something that people like, especially if it's ยฃ1 or ยฃ2 Amazon vouchers despite not being a whole lot they do make a difference.
Or, just giving a nice compliment for their contribution always makes one feel better.
Bestoffer Congrats, Bestoffer.
I'm currently the number one poster but I have to say I don't like seeing that because it just means, in terms of deals being posted aren't that many by others. I'm honestly not even posting a whole lot, just as I find and they're usually always video games-related so for those not interested in games, it won't fancy them.
This is my little rant.
By the way, can't the Facebook Latest Deals' page bring over those users to the website? It sure could make great use of them. I just want Latest Deals to be great and active, that's all.
Hey Rockman - the leaderboard takes into account much more than just the # of deals posted! It's a magical combination of many things. Only Kelsey knows the exact recipe. Plus, you're absolutely right that it sure would be nice if more posted deals and things they found: that's sure our intention! The number of 'viewers' to 'participants' is 1000 to 1 (if not more). As I mentioned to you in an email, we're working on some new elements that hopefully will do exactly that - encourage more to get actively involved.

Here's a sneak peak of some ideas floating around! We'd like to turn Latest Deals more into a fun game, or add a competitive element to it - something that rewards you. And just like our leaderboard prize here, it'd be real rewards. Not just points for the sake of points.
Right now, Kelsey is stroking his long white beard and improving our database to keep track of more data points. This means we can give you more real time feedback. If 10 people look at your deal, for example, it'd be nice to tell you! Or, if you had a particularly busy spree on Latest Deals posting 5 comments in 5 minutes - it'd be cool to reward you for that!
My hope is that people on Facebook and our newsletter will be excited and encouraged by this, and take the active step of posting the deals they see here.
Bestoffer hey is it the Leaderboard that's confusing? It tries to reward the top overall contributor of the week. It takes into account lots of things. For example, if someone is always helping by replying to people's questions, marking things as expired and voting on deals, they're contributing too! And we want to reward that.
The ideal situation would be if we could reward everyone for what they enjoy doing. Rockman, you specialise in Nintendo deals, and it'd be cool to create a custom 'specialism' badge, or something, to show people that's your expertise. I trust your deals because I know you're an expert in everything Nintendo. If we could visualise that to others, I think it could get more engagement. You could be like the Nintendo Expert.
Tom That'd be cool. Some Nintendo fan(boys) don't really like when others criticise Nintendo because they think Nintendo can do no wrong. Well, they can.
I'm getting a Switch at launch but it's very evident it has several flaws already.
Tom Thank you. Hope that the steam picks up because a lot of people are missing out on what it is a great website to post deals and be rewarded for it.
It'll be good to have you back, nemosays . I have just shared/tweeted a pile of deals/competitions I posted with hashtags enabled to see if it attracts any newcomers even just to check out the website and all.
nemosays Even though there's not too much activity on LD, i.e., comments and deal posts the competitions of Nintendo Switch have gotten a lot of hits.
Win a Switch at GameSeek - 66 entries
Win Zelda Breath of the Wild LE at GameSeek - 9 entries
Win a Switch with EB Games Australia - 7 entries
I think Tom shared the GameSeek Switch competition on Facebook though the others while only 7 and 9 entries are still considerably good rather than only 3 or 4.
And then if the users lurking around decide to register they'll then start giving hearts/like to the deals they deem good. I'm glad there's no downvote on this deals' website (unlike some other which tend to get users in a bad mood due it -- although it shouldn't affect them personally but it does) because if it isn't good in their opinion, then just leave it as it is and move to the next one.
