As I've got older i am not so much into music but I do watch a lot of reaction videos on youtube. Fairly young folk react to hearing a track for the very first time and go bonkers hearing Bee Gees, Righteous Brothers, Procol Harem etc.
I recently heard some young guys singing their version of a 1920s song I had never heard before and it blew my mind. What was so special was that one of them made music with his hands, nose and throat and actually replicated an harmonica....amazing, another had the deepest voice I had ever heard.
I would love to know what you all think.
They are called Home Free and the song is called Man of Constant Sorrow.
Love the bee gees as I was brought up with my mum playing them none stop my dad is pet shop boys but I can't stand them lol
Leannexxx If you get the chance go on YouTube and listen to Marc Almond doing a duet with Gene Pitney of Somethings gotten hold of my heart. It is magic and one of Gene Pitney's best songs. Though to be honest I love all his songs and often ask Alexa to play them. Town without pity, the man who shot Liberty Valance, Princess in Rags, ...............I won't go on!
I love watching the younger generations reactions to older songs they've never heard and without exception they seem to love them. They are also very appreciative of the standard of singing without all the modern equipment we have today.
You gotta love the oldies, and the 80s and 90s. How many songs from then have been brought out again, played at weddings etc.
