Whats the best book you've ever read??
I need new recommendations!
All genres welcome!
Just read haunting and hunting Adeline soo dark but soo good!
My favourite books are Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. I love all of the Jane Austen books but that one is my favourite. I'm not sure what the best book I ever read was. When I was a teenager I loved Eva Ibbotson, she wrote 4 of my favourite books and I would still read them today.
It depends what you would read. My favourite book is the Stand by Stephen King. Its a big book though.
NicoleC94 they made a film of it - the film is 8 hours long. They showed it on tv years ago as a mini series- but its one of the films that does completely follow the exact plot and personalities etc.
I've never been a great reader and my eyes are knackered now, so books are no good.
I think that the last book I read was 1984 by George Orwell
My favourite book is The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. I have recently read Girl on the Train and I’m watching you, enjoyed both. For light reading I like a bit of Sophie Kinsella.
I have a few favourites. 48 and the Rats trilogy by James Herbert. One Summer at Dears Leap by Elizabeth Elgin. Canopy of Silence by Margaret Graham. The Waterways Trilogy by Milly Adams.
I can’t think of a favourite book but I do love reading and best thing I bought was my kindle as now I read things maybe I didn’t before as purchasing a book you didn’t like felt like a waste of money.
I love the Daphne Du Maurier books, Trudi Canavan and also love psychological thrillers too, there are many books I could recommend but it depends what you are looking for in a book?
tumblespots did you see the docu drama about du Maurier? I had no idea she had been involved in a court case accused of plagiarism.
Lynibis No. I am assuming it was on TV and I don't have a licence so sadly I am unlikely to see it unless it is available on dvd. But that is shocking news
tumblespots she was found innocent if I remember correctly. She had to travel to America to appear in court. Can't remember which channel/service it was on.
Lynibis I am relieved that she was found innocent as I enjoy all her books. I could look for it on YouTube where it would be free.
Historical fiction but factually correct. In other words I love novels about real historical people, their true story told but with imagined dialogue and situations.
I must be going senile I was sure you were asking fave genre not fave book.
So, my absolute favourite book of all time is The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman who sadly is now deceased.
People tend to think historical fiction is dry old bones but it is no different to contemporary/modern books telling a story in which you become immersed. You don't need to be a history fan or buff in order to enjoy.
The best book I have ever read was 'Tom's Midnight Garden' by Phillipa Pearce. I read it when I was in Junior School and it has always been my favourite. If you have young children who love to read I would highly recommend this.
I don’t have a favourite book but I love anything by Martina Cole, Heather Atkinson or Emma Talon
