Whats the Best Way to Poach an Egg?
Ask a Question
My husband has a ‘craving‘ eggs Benedict and has been trying different methods to poach an egg before buying a gadget. What’s your experience?
Boil the water in saucepan with water from hot kettle add salt. Once water is on a rolling boil remove from heat to gently add in the cracked eggs one in each corner and one in middle. Return to head for a four mins or when the egg rises to the very top of the pan. Remove using a slatted utensil and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Dunno as I keep messing up. I love poached eggs but can't cook them. Can scramble eggs but can't do am omelette either. Oh can do an omelette but can't do boiled eggs I do it
I've always boiled water in a pan and just crack the egg into it, and I always add a bit of vinegar in the water
I’ve never managed to produce a nice looking poached egg by dropping it in boiling water. I go back to greasing old tea cups and stand them in boiling water.
I have a little egg poacher pan that poaches 4 eggs but you can always do them in a small saucepan with salt I have also added vinger at times I love poached eggs but don't like them to soft
I cannot manage the whirlpool method to make successful poached eggs so we are old school with an egg poaching pan.
Boiling water with a dash of vinegar in a small saucepan, break eggs carefully into ramekins in this...
I put a small amount of water in a large mug, add the egg and put a lid of some sort on. Put in microwave for about 30 seconds and adding time as you see.
I'm the same as others have said and a saucepan of boiling water, simmer and pot egg in, perfect poached egg every time.
