What's Your Favourite Horror Film?
Ask a Question
I recently watched Hereditary and it's hands down the most frightening film that I've ever seen, it doesn't have the usual jump scares but instead gives you a feeling of dread - I highly recommend it.
What are your favourites?

I'm a total wimp when it comes to horror films and my favourite horror films are the least scary pretty much like old Hammer movies.

BonzoBanana Are they the ones that were made by Hammer Film Productions such as Dracula?

Mango5 Yes those sort of movies with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. There are lots of hammer movies though and my favourite isn't even a proper horror movie it is 'One Million Years BC' with Raquel Welch. Loved that movie as a child. It just seemed like something completely different at the time.

I use to think Halloween was a great film, I watched it recently and found it a bit cheesy, can't say any modern horror movies is any good, they just don't have the same feel as say 70's or 80's horror movies

I don't like horror as a genre although I will watch it in company. But I couldn't bear to watch films like Saw.
However, I watched one the other night called Abigail as it said it was kidnap and ransom thriller, it was more like a vampire comedy, rubbish but I saw it through.
My son recommended The Pope's Exorcist with Russell Crowe and that was pretty good, although I watched between my fingers!

I like the old black-and-white B-movie horror films. They are hilarious. The language is so elegant, and they make so many mistakes. I love a good Frankenstein or Monsters From The Deep. They crack me up.

Aliens is one of my favourites but for me one of the scariest was Blair witch project, not a great film and nothing happens really but it made me use my own imagination/brain to look past all that.
Anything modern imo is not that great, 80s horror was the best
