What's One Holiday Destination You Would NEVER Visit Again?

What's one holiday destination you would NEVER visit again?
For me it’s San Francisco. Although some nice sights to see its full of drug addicts who are high on the streets in downtown. We saw a “lady” taking a on the streets while high, 2 gun incidents in a fast food place, feeling of being unsafe to mention a few things
For me It has to be Hollywood. Its not what It seems. I have been there several times as It was through an excursion but not for me. Its a dive actually with lots of Homelessness. I did like San Francisco. I stayed In the Holiday Inn on Van Ness Ave. Lovely Hotel and close to everything that was of Interest Including the Shops. Visited The Golden Gate, Sausalito and took a boat back around Alcatraz to Pier 59.
So does that mean you’ll go back again then bet it’s an eiry place il be having all sorts running through me think I’d rather watch it on u tube than to actually be on the grounds were so much darkness happened
America has a massive homeless and drug problem going on right now. It's awful to see. I try not to go back to the same place again. Not because I'm never impressed but because there's loads of other places I want to go to. I'll be honest America doesn't overly appeal.
Malta - When I visited in 2016 it was one big building site.
It was also windy (Not Malta's fault I know)
Plus, on all the excursions I went on the guides were more interested in herding us into gift shops than showing us what we booked to see.
blacklabrador I went to Malta last year - its beautiful now. Maybe try again in a few years
Mayhem Yup, I think I was just a bit unlucky with my timing, I went in April so I guess they were not fully geared up for the tourist season.
Here's a list of some of the most overrated places from google
There were a few links but this seemed to be the most honest
One other list gave Hobbiton in New Zealand as being overrated , because the houses were man made ??
Did the author think they were real , made by Hobbits , of course they are man made for the film
I enjoyed that tour when i was there , just a little disappointed that the houses were just props with a front door , but i already knew this before i went , but they were set in beautiful gardens and surrounding hillsides just like in the film

Naples, I’ve heard bad things but nothing could really prepare me for the place. Italy as a whole is a beautiful place so it was shocking to visit Rome, florence, venice etc and then go to naples. Shame cause it’s near to some amazing sites (pompeii & Visuvius etc)
New York/USA - too many racist and trigger happy police so I wouldn't feel safe anywhere in that country.
Rhodes, Greece but only because I gambled on a cheap deal. Turned out a holiday from Hell. Too hot, no air conditioning and power cuts. Self catering and hardly any groceries that looked edible. This is some years ago now though.
Once I have seen a place that's it, don't want a return visit, would rather see somewhere new. Syria was pretty awful when I went years back so definitely wouldn't return with all the stuff going on now. I saw the Craque des Chevaliers which was a thrill due to my passion for history.
sam07 yes of course. It was many years ago and I had the chance (which I jumped at) to accompany my best friend on a school trip cruise as chaperones to the kids, her own being amongst the passengers.
I must admit it wasn't your usual med cruise as we went to the less tourist/holiday places. Egypt was memorable as we docked in Alexandria and coached down to Cairo, armed guards on the coach there and back to ship! Not sure they would risk it with a boat load of kids these days.
Despite being chaperones we didn't get a discount lol.
ukheather what was wrong with Lanzarote, where did you stay? We really like the place.
Turkey. I went to Mamaris when I 13 and it's not an experience I would want again and wouldn't subject my children to. Other than the intense heat, there was constant badgering to go into bars and restaurants
SarahHorsfield I agree we went on a recommendation and were a bit disappointed. Cheap 'designer ' tee shirts though.
Cuba. Partner wanted to visit again and was extremely disappointed. The excursion to Havana was a big let down, the guide was in such a hurry and wizzed through the walking tour in 20 minutes then left us for 1.5 hours free time and the 'old' cars are not old, they've all been modified.
SarahHorsfield The beach, sea, weather and people were great, hotel ok, food terrible. We felt the excursion was over priced and we didn't see very much.
lilyflower yeah I saw the excursion whilst there
Loved to do of done it. But my the 8 year old wouldn’t have
lilyflower a disappointment I feel - probably because I had been told how amazing it was
My mum loves Turkey and I have been with her a few times when I was a teenager and would not go again. Everyone has a different experience but I did personally not feel safe even with my mum.
Las Vegas. It was so overrated and a static shock in the ass every time I sat down was not my idea of fun
PinkyMerrick I didn't get the sheath cks thank god and just enjoyed the surreal feel. No more than a few days though
pamtay I genuinely hated it. I wouldn't go back. It was an experience which I'm lucky to have had, but maybe I had it atgthe wrong age in life
PinkyMerrick I had low expectations because we don't gamble. Went on a trip to the grand canyon too. I can understand why someone wouldn't like it though
Tunisia - looked amazing but the pictures must have been taken 15 years ago the food was awful and got pestered to go on a donkey ride and buy flowers the minute we walked out the hotel and shop owners saying Harry Ramsden and Pat Butcher to try and get you to go in their shops. Booked a camel ride and it was on the side of a motorway never ever again thank you very much and it wasn't cheap either!
emmabeckz I hated Tunisia too I went about 23 years ago. Everyone smoked horrible smelling cigarettes in hotel reception and it came into the room through the aircon. Pool had black mould on tiles. Our view was of some buildings that looked like they'd been bombed. Food not good. Never again!
America I found it very homophonic and if you were different through disability or even non religious you were judge.
Tunisia is a place i’d never go again. The food was absolutely awful. The men there thought you were a piece of meat. couldn’t walk around shops without them trying to lure you in. Hotel was something else, we ended up with sickness and diarrhoea
MEXICO. Went there for our honeymoon and my wife got an infection 25 years ago. Went there again for my 50th to see if it had improved and i spent 4 out of 7 nights in hospital with food poisoning. I wouldn't have minded but i was forced to sign a disclaimer to leave the leave the (5*) hotel to say it was not by food at the hotel? I never went off site but they had me in knots trying get home. AND they don't call it food poisoning it's called "Traveller Diarrhea" which takes the onus off the hotels and places it on the traveller. Ring any bells anyone else?
I would say Paris. Parts of it are scruffy with human poo in gutters and around buildings. The food and drink is expensive , shopkeepers rude as they won't let you speak French . So much pushing on public transport . I asked one person to please wait and they spat at me
For me Alice Springs in Australia. This was a disappointment as the town centre was full of drunken Aborigines.I wanted to go there as I was interested to know what the town was like as I had read the book 'A Town Like Alice' by Neville Shute but it proved to be something different to say the least.
Gosh now I know what places not to book for a holiday . I went to Portugal last mth and truly enjoyed every second of it, I’d also love to go back to Rome and explore other parts of Italy like Lake Garda, Venice, Sorrento
