When Did You Last Go to the Library?
Ask a Question
When is the last time you visited your local library?
I've just signed up to borrow box on mine so I can borrow some ebooks and listen to some audio ones while I walk the dog.
The last time that I visited mine was a couple of months ago when I was job-hunting; my local is a short drive in town - they're such a valuable resource.
Around 30 years ago. When I was skint, I used to go there and pay 60p and they used to order a CD that I wanted. They'd let me know when they had it and I used to loan it and record it onto tape.
There used to be a library in the village where we are now, but that's shut.
We go quite often, daughter's love to go and do arts and crafts ect.. on a Saturday, and regularly take books out
We have a new library opened up nearby so I went by to have a look.I was a bit disappointed because it all looks a little clinical in there,I like a dusty old woody booky look/smell/feel.They do offer lots of good services though so I will definitely return and sign up for libby or some such.
Last week for printing out various articles, magazines swapping, browsing the new books, ex-library book sales, using the toilet and reading the various leaflets on the display table. I have access to several libraries: one 10 minutes walking distance; the other one a 3 minutes bus ride; the other one a 10 minutes bus ride and another one a 30 minutes bus ride. I will give "Borrow Box" a go.
I went to my local library week before last with my Granddaughter as they were holding Xmas craft sessions for children.
My local library is literally at the bottom of my garden, couldn’t be much closer but since the children left school I have not used it. I used a library when I was on my last cruise.
Not been regularly since father fell ill but called in and read a book on Beatriz potter while waiting for the bus a couple of months ago
When I was younger I went to the library every week without fail, now I have so many books that I could probably open a library of my own!
I probably went to a library about 4 times last year, probably my local library 3 times and when I went to Dorchester and had some time to kill I had a look at some reference books in their library which is just on the side of the main shopping car park.
I haven’t borrowed a book from the library in years but my husband often reserves one to save buying it.
I go often. I love cooking books and a colleague suggested I join the library. I can borrow books and take time to go through them. I have bought less books as I don't go by the hype of a book on Amazon only to get them and theres only 3 or 4 things I would cook from it. There are a few library books that were that good that I have purchased a copy from eBay and Abe.
Last year December, my local Library is fab, and the staff who work there are very good and helpful.
I used to go quite regularly until they renovated inside and replace half the books with a cafe. Now not many of the books i’d want to read are on the shelves and you have to pay a fee for them to get the ones out of storage.
jms19 your library does not sound like much fun, it sounds like they get as much money as they can from their members. Are you able to get to another one in the next town?
I go every 2 weeks or so usually. The Christmas break has meant a bigger break from the library.I last visited 4 weeks ago.
I go every week to Burnham on Sea library. It is VERY efficiently run and I find the option to reserve books very helpful.
Yesterday, I took out a few books and had a chat with our lovely friendly, helpful library assistants.
