When & Why Do People Take Photos Sticking Their Tongues Out?

Ask a Question

I’ve just been looking through my Facebook news pages and so many take photos of family and selfies sticking out their tongues. What’s wrong with a smile? Am I too old and have missed some trend?

There's someone on my Facebook friends list who sticks their tongue out in every picture, and she really is old enough to know better.

It’s not really doing anyone any favours. I find it quite odd. People used to say smile for the camera.

A baby looks cute regardless of whether they stick their tongues out but it’s adults doing it.

I stick my tongue out as I hate it when people point the camera at me as I don’t like my photo taken so they eventually get the idea and don’t take any photos of me

Pjran same, or I turn around. I hate my picture being taken, and some friends like to post on social media which is even worse.

Whether it is a trend or not I don't like it. They are in effect sticking their tongue out at anyone they show the photo to or who sees it. It seems to be a thing these days to 'give attitude' but attitude is just another term for being rude or stand offish.

I hate it when people have attitude, I find it intimidating and unkind and it infuriates me when people are praised for bad attitude, mainly celebrities.

I don’t find it offensive or intimidating because you can usually see they’re trying to smile behind it. Don’t let anyone intimidate you x

I think it's people who don't like having their picture taken, that way they have an excuse for not taking a good one 😊

I can’t agree with you there. Whole groups of young women are posing in their gladrags with pointing their tongues.

I am behind the times as I am not on Facebook but agree that people's tongues are not attractive Pjran

No clue they think they look 'cute' or 'cool' wheres might sound harsh but I find it creepy or just plain pathetic, to me screams attention seeking.

With my kids it's the peace ✌️ sign at different angles. I'm not on Facebook can't be bothered with the constant moaning and back stabbing comments. I'm not really on social media at all.

I only follow friends and family on Facebook so there’s no backstabbing. I’ve only unfriended one person, she was a girlfriend of a friend. I got fed up with her negativity.
