Where's a Good Place to Get Affordable Stocking Fillers?

Ask a Question

I'm going to do a stocking for my son this year, never done one before. I've already got some sweets but wondering where would be good and not too expensive to get other items. I would want car themed items at a reasonable price. I've looked on Amazon but I assume there is somewhere that would be cheaper.

emmabeckz never heard of Toys for a Pound or Pound fun. I had planned B&M, our home bargains isn't that big so doesn't have a lot of toys unfortunately. Didn't think about Argos.

Home bargains. I found it great and got a lot from there especially for stockings. And such good prices. X

possy unfortunately our Home Bargains is small so doesn't have a big toy selection and not a lot in the way of cars. I will still have a look though.

MrsCraig aw no what a shame. Possibly B&m. Or even eBay, eBay is quite good as a lot of shops and you can earn cash back from eBay

possy our B&M is brilliant, I had planned to look there just wanted to see if there was other places too. Didn't think about ebay.

MrsCraig happy Christmas shopping. I love this time of year. On Amazon, I was ordering a book £7.50, but if I ordered 2 it was 2 for £7!! I was well happy!

possy I've got a list of what to get him, just never done a sticking before. I like to get my present shopping done just after his birthday in November so I've got plenty of time to wrap everything and get the rest of it sorted out.

possy absolutely. I don't mind getting the food a few days beforehand but I need to have all the presents bought and wrapped by the middle of December or I get stressed.

I do use Amazon. Personally I wouldn't go with pound shop stuff as it's cheap and likely to fall apart

Jerseydrew I use Amazon for a lot of things, just wondered if there were other places that might have a different selection or be slightly cheaper.

JLouM nearest Range and Original Factory shop is an hour away and our Asda doesn't have that big a toy section unfortunately.

JLouM again the toy sections in our Tesco and TK Maxx aren't that big and don't do a lot of cars. I could look on Argos, use some of my nectar points.

MrsCraig Sorry can’t think of anywhere else. Everywhere is expensive unless you might find things online.

I use kidsstuffforless and toysforapound a lot. Also Home Bargains have some really nice little affordable bits in - I would try a bigger branch if you possibly can, as my local, smaller one wasn't great x

Karen331 haven't heard of either of those websites, will make a look. The next biggest branch of Home Bargains is 45 minutes away, unlikely I will get the time to visit unfortunately.

MrsCraig Did you know Temu have a toy car Advent calendar? Other car related items are temporary tattoos, socks, beanie hats, sticker sheets, stationery.

lilyflower I would be worried that it didn't arrive on time, also not too keen on using Temu as I've heard loads of negative reviews.

MrsCraig I've had a few things and they normally arrive within 2 weeks, they give you a delivery window when ordering, also full tracking. If they miss the delivery target you get £4 also they are very good with free returns, and some things are either full refund via Temu credit or original payment or a refund and you keep and donate depending on the item.

Not worth a special trip and not available on line but if you are passing a Halfords they have "Bargain Racks" where end of range stuff is sold for a fraction of the original price .

I've picked up loads of things "That may come in useful one day" and even a few that I actually want .

What about some hot wheels cars? They're around £1.50 each and last for years! You can buy the multipacks too.

I'd say B&M for little bits. I have 3 stocking to do and I dread buying stocking bits. I've got some hot wheels cars for one of my son's and I've got some chocolate. I'm going to get some pens and bits. My oldest son (14) will be getting smelly bits in his probably!

My daughter is easy, anything little, cute & girly.. bath bombs always go down a treat!

Things like deodorant, shower gel, shave gel, terrys chocolate orange. You can normally pick those things up for around £1-£2.
