I loved being able to work and had a full and varied career including both paid and voluntary work. However my disability leaves me unable to work or even know if I am safe to hold a cup by myself depending how I am from minute to minute. Put me down as an 'I would if only I could, but I can't'.
I think it is a good idea to work from home as it cuts down on traffic to work and transport costs. It can perhaps be a little lonely but going out for a walk once a day is good to split the day up.I am a retired teacher so the work from home idea would not be that easy although I think online teaching was done during Covid.
I stopped working for a bit after I had our son. He had a rare and complex heart condition and needed 24 hour care. Then after his operation covid hit so he wasn't allowed to go to nursery. I enjoyed staying home with him and looking after him and the house. He is at nursery now and I'm back at work and I enjoy being at work. I've been off this week as he is ill and I've actually missed my work.
I enjoy going to work and then coming home and looking after my husband and son.
