Yay or Naye to Wimbledon
In the News
What do you all think of Wimbledon? My partner & daughter love it & are currently watching Sinner v Hafmann on Court One..
I was on Annual Leave yesterday also today looking after our cats...
The weather in Sheffield is rubbish so I've not even gone out the door today!
Jerseydrew ....I have put the match on but only to see if I can spot my partner wearing his Northern Ireland football shirt & our daughter in her blue cap & sunglasses!!
I don’t mind some of it. Can’t watch whole matches I get bored. I did watch Emma Radicanau win a couple of years ago. Only one I fully watched. Never actually been there but my sister and niece have a couple of times.
SilverSurfer ....Ohhh believe me, it won't just be Tennis partner & daughter are keeping an eye on...They are both mad football fans so the talk will be about Sheffield Wednesday's latest signing etc!!
It's still good enough to watch bits and pieces of some matches. Hope A. Murray decides to play
might watch a bit of the final, but thats about it. Get bored very quickly! (Im the same with the football - so its not just Tennis)
I find Tennis very boring. My dad loved watching it so it was always on when I was younger. I mwver watch it now.
Just not my kind of thing. Then again I love F1 and that isn't for everyone either.
I went to a school where we had tennis pummeled into us so it's a big no for me but I do understand why other people like it.
Partner & daughter home safe after 1.30am, they loved their day at Wimbledon, partner bought them a lovely cap each as modelled by our black cat Phoenix..
I've been bought a gorgeous new water bottle & they're sleeping soundly in their bedrooms now so time to join them...Sleep well..x
I'm really not interested in tennis anymore so don't watch it but my late Mum absolutely loved it.
I have never had any interest in watching tennis but a friend of mine is glued to the tv at the moment. I don’t watch the football either.
Wimbledon is one of the inclusive sports of our time. Although many will save their hard earned cash to pay for tickets, queue for hours, overpay for strawberries and perhaps champagne. It is truly an overpriced sport and one I would be ashamed to attend.
EmmaWright762 ....My partner works long hours as a Support Worker for people with Learning Disabilities & Autism & looks forward to watching Tennis with our daughter who's just finished her degree in Diagnostic Radiography..
Partner & daughter said Wimbledon was worth every penny, they absolutely loved sitting on Henman Hill & Court One watching the Tennis yesterday..
Yes they didn't get home til 1 45am after their train was delayed but they enjoyed their day..
Partner went last year to Wimbledon & paid £2.50 for 9 decent Strawberries & Cream...Sat enjoying them on Henman Hill in his Sheffield Wednesday away shirt, people going up & asking if he was supporting Ukraine cos of the yellow & blue shirt!
Nay, boring, I watched it years ago when it was interesting, no characters in the game anymore
Partner & daughter paid £75 for this Wimbledon picnic hamper..
It consists of 4 small different sandwiches each
2 Scones
Pot of Jam, 2 Pots of Clotted Cream
4 different Cakes
2 large bottles of water
2 hot drinks vouchers
They got to keep the picnic hamper , it's picnic mat, cutlery & 2 big square plastic
plates
Partner & daughter couldn't eat everything so brought it home & had it for lunch today while watching Wimbledon!
janphoenix51 Ouch, that's more than I spend on food in 1 week. Glad you can afford this and that they enjoyed themselves though.
No it really doesn’t float my boat, some matches are good but in parts could never go there to watch a whole match. Messes up TV schedule too plus Euros on .
...
This is what Partner & our daughter enjoyed on Henman Hill yesterday...They said the Wimbledon Afternoon Tea picnic hamper was excellent value for money & they have a nice souvenir of their special day together...
I am not a sports fan and this time of year gets me down. TV schedules changed, sport on 3 out of 4 channels and it all bored me to tears. My friend takes 2 weeks annual leave to watch tennis.
I love most sporting events, especially such famous ones. I’m in heaven at the moment with the euros, Wimbledon and then the olympics coming up
