I personally hate using Yodel so I always avoid their service (the delivery drivers I've had just leave it on ground floor and run), but there are good employees so for those I hope they can make it through.
Can say I've had any issues with yodel they are pretty good in my area so I hope they sort it out Hermes needs to go, worst delivery service I've had and avoid any company that uses them
There is a Yodel depot near me and this is the first i've heard about it going into administration. In the past i've had delivery problems and went to the depot to see why my parcel wasn't delivered. Always had the same reply nobody was home. That was a lie as there was always someone at home.
Sugarbabe Yep, you can track and see they just don't go there. Yet... They mark it as "not home" that's clearly a lie.
Evri/Hermes also did that and probably still does.
I can't remember seeing any news story previously that they were in trouble. I had a recent issue with yodel where parcels were very slow to get delivered which meant my ebay customers were not happy but they managed to get delivered just before I would have had to refund them but it was a bit stressful at the time. I've had issues with Evri and Royal Mail though. I had a parcel sent by Royal Mail to me and 3x they failed to deliver it and when I went to collect it at the sorting office they didn't know where it was except I heard the new postman in my area has been problematic. I will soon make a claim on ebay for non-delivery.
Yodel don't seem to be too bad around here. The worst company I have come across is APC who are absolutely dreadful!
tumblespots Huh, only used them once to deliver a Samsung projector which I sold for not long after. I did only buy it because they offered a Samsung A52s phone for free with that purchase.
PhilipMarc APC was not the carrier I chose and at first they seemed fine. An email said the parcel was due the next day. On the due date they said I could track the parcel and told me what parcel number I was. I watched all day..... the driver got to delivery number 50ish and then I tracked him back to the depot - no parcel for me! Same the day after. I got it on day 3.
Another product I ordered from someone else decided to use APC too a few days later and my heart sank! We went through the same rigmarole all over again.
Never had a problem with Yodel - but I know people who have. Sad if anyone loses their job though, but I am sure other delivery companies will snap them up as they all seem to be after drivers
Yodel are appalling where I live, they leave things in full view of the street so I've had numerous parcels stolen, other items have been left smashed and most are soaked to the point the cardboard just falls apart. Wouldn't mind but I have a parcel box right next to where they leave them. Saying all of that, I do hate the thought of people losing jobs
Only today yodel delivered my second delivery of expensive candles because I had to ring company where I purchased items from to let them know the first items were all broken upon opening soon as I took delivery of them I took photos straight away. Second box exactly the same so I’ve just asked for a refund and I’ll have to go into the stor when I ca. even though it’s says FRAGILE in red all over box some of them don’t seem to care
Good, on 2 occasions a driver almost ran me over (drivers not paying attention) they delivered my packages upside down ( microwave and air fryer) vinted parcels have gone missing and messages about delivered parcels that haven’t even left the depot (but they say delivered)
