Yodel - "Missed Parcel"
Ask a Question
Has anyone else had an issue with yodel?.. my parcel was meant to be delivered yesterday. I checked and it said they "missed me and left card". No one knocked on the door and there's no card. Rearranged for today. Same story...?! I seen some comments online with other people having issues too. I'm just getting annoyed now.
I had something similar with my hames ended up back with seller who had to post back. Also order 2 things from Amazon once only got 1 should have come together had to get refund on other
Imnotcheap I never had issues with Amazon. Before Hermes was annoying too. But lately it improved.
I've not had too many problems recently with Yodel but in the past I had more than my fair share. It is incredibly frustrating when you wait in for a delivery that doesn't turn up. Doubly so when they claim to have attempted delivery and they clearly haven't. I've heard they do this because an 'attempted delivery' is better than a missed delivery when they look at reliability ratings.
seasider71 that makes sense...especially when I looked on it and it said the driver had 147 deliveries?!...mine was last...two days undelivered in a row. I'm unimpressed...
BlueOrchid I once realised I'd not received a delivery via Yodel. When I checked the order tracker it claimed delivery had been attempted 3 times with cards left (none were) and my only option was to collect from a depot 30 miles away! After I rang and complained it was delivered the next day. Hope yours turns up.
I have had that happen to me with Yodel, turned out that they never attempted to deliver despite tracking saying they had tried . Apparently they were running late with deliveries , so took it back to the depot and delivered it the next day instead. To be honest I never really have a good experience with either Yodel or Hermes .
After recently making a good comment about Hermes on another chat topic here the gesture returned to bite me on the bum! Parcel should've been delivered Friday then message came through on Sat estimate 3 - 7pm..........then it was extended to 9pm. At 8pm message comes through informing me that they tried to deliver but there was nobody in and there was no safe place to leave it. (strange that no card was left and I was at home) Standard rubbish they leave when they have finished their shift and they haven't delivered all that they should have within the time limit. Yodel are even worse.
sunny101 I used to have issues with Hermes. But now they got new lady driver and I havent had ab issue since...but yodel..I cant believe it! Two days in a row. That's just taking the mick...
Thankfully I know the delivery guys for yodel and hermes in my area so have no problems but they are under unbelievable pressure at the moment hermes guy went front 120 parcels are day to almost 600
Never had trouble with yodel amazon or my hermes, but dpd wow shocking I know its social distancing but no need for them to drop parcel on door step when car bonnet side of them. Can hear it hitting the floor am going to catch him one day and have door open ready.
I had a problem with an amazon order via yodel a few years ago, I was in all day, update later in the day said it had been delivered yet it hadnt, this was before live tracking. I have cctv so could prove it hadnt been delivered. Got intouch with Amazon who arranged for a another item to be delivered which was delivered by another company, i forget which. The parcel was just in its originally package as it was big so you could see what it was ! so i suspect the yodel driver or someone down the line decided to keep it. I got back intouch with Amazon told them not to send anything again via yodel and to this day they havent. But as i say this was years ago and things are different now
neo1 to be fair I spoke to my brother about it today. He recalled when he was working at Hermes that the parcels were chucked everywhere quickly and hot damaged easily..and sometimes lost their label...but as you say if it said "delivered" that's something dodgy there...
I had this before where they sent me an email saying i had missed them and a card had been out through letterbox, next day i had received my parcel. Download the app and keep track of your parcel, if you dont get it within the next couple of days I would send an email and ask whats going on.
I get this all the time with all the delivery companies, but I donโt blame them in my case most of the time. There are two houses with the same number on my street and I live in one of them.
My house is the one actually on my street. The other one is a corner house and officially on the other street their house is next to, but their front door, drive and path face my street so the deliveries are mixed up all the time.
If neither of us get the delivery though then I complain to whoever I ordered from.
They can be very bad. Thankfully, I rarely use them, but I know people who often have issues and would avoid them like the plague
hspexy that's the problem when you order it doesnt always specify which company they use...if I had known it was yodel I would looked elsewhere.
BlueOrchid Ah yes, itโs always annoying when that happens. I guess they use whatever is cheapest for them...which is usually the problem
Yodel, Hermes, Amazon's own delivery and the rest... They all have issues. It all depends on the local courier. The people who deliver parcels these days can be anyone. Anyone can do it. I could buy a van and sign up tomorrow. It sounds like you got a bad one because my most recent experiences with Yodel and Hermes were fine. Amazon however managed to deliver a parcel to "the resident", while my house was empty. Funnily enough, it wasn't here when I got back.
Dennab maybe it was delivered to the "ghost" in your house? many years ago when I rented a room with other flatmates I ordered a phone online. In the house I was the only girl but then recently I did started seeing some girl there often. Anyway I checked online and it said my phone was delivered. My friend worked at royal mail and shown me signature too which wasnt mine. Basically she signed as me and probably was thinking of keeping it. I called my landlord and left a note on the door saying I know someone signed for it. Then "miraculously" it appeared in an opened envelope with her long hair still on it in the kitchen box where I kept my donations to charity...oh I was fuming. And it was very good phone too.
BlueOrchid Wow the cheek! I'm glad you got it back though. I get so annoyed when I hear about people being robbed, knowing I can't help. I don't know of a ghost here
Dennab me too... well luckily my parcel turned upits mini rebounder trampoline so my son can keep jumping inside even on rainy daysespecially now with half term and you never know when he might need to self isolate because of school..they already had some classes isolating because of teachers...
Dennab I think it's been out there for few years now... theres lots of fitness excercise videos on YouTube and classes too. Some seems rather vigorous have a look.
I have had a lot of trouble with parcels recently. Mine keep going missing. So far in the past couple of months I have had chocolate bars, energy drinks, face masks, perfume, cream and incence getting lost in the post. I have constantly had to send companies emails to send me a replacement
Moonstone22 you wouldn't believe about the amount of post/parcels getting lost in a year...last time I checked with numbers royal mail disclosed was about 1mln...
BlueOrchid That I'd shocking, I never knew how many packages go missing. You would think they would be more careful with peoples belongings
Moonstone22 things happens I suppose...sometimes it might be simply that the label came off or something...but sometimes it's due to staff ...few years I seen an article where postman was keeping postcards addressed to others. Another time postman was keeping letters from Tesco etc with vouchers in it...
BlueOrchid Gosh there are so many dishonest postmen out there. It's such a shame things do get lost whether it's the postmen or just an innocent mishap. My neighbour has had their laptop go missing at the moment and the company is refusing to give a refund or replacement
Moonstone22 omg that is ridiculous. I suppose years ago if they would leave a parcel at doorstep without getting signature some people used to claim they never received it....so they would get 2 for 1 really... if they dont have his signature they should sort it out
BlueOrchid Hopefully things will get sorted out for my neighbour. The post people really need to do a better job stopping our parcels from getting lost
We are quite lucky we no most of delivery drivers now so usually leave them in safe place. It's DHL and Parcelfore we have most issues with. Either not showing up returning to sender saying couldn't find address. Yes we stay in new builds, but it's the same driver that has been before so no dam excuse. I have had fragile package thrown over fence rather than opening the gate. Was not impressed with a bottle of wine smashed to bits was meant to be a birthday gift.
I used to work for a company that used Yodel... they were awful! The amount of claims that we had to put in for lost or damaged items was unbelievable! We would get to work in the mornings and there were literally hundreds of emails about the deliveries.
I'm waiting for a parcel from Hermes, they said it would be Saturday between two times but never turned up, they then said Monday between two times but didn't turn up in those times. Instead it came two hours later when I was out and so the parcel is still with them. I'd rather they just said a later date which they can actually keep to rather than pretend they are going to deliver it between certain times.
BonzoBanana I know the feeling..I stayed in all day for the given times. Nothing happened. Nipped out for 10min to get milk and obviously in that time I missed it
Hate yodel I sat in all day paid for next day delivery said would be here by 1 2mins past checked tracker saying was unable to deliver got that same the next day they haven't got a number to contact them
Leeann you can go online to chat with them. But half the time it's very busy and no advisers available
My parcel said it was handed to customer .but not to us my address and it was from ebay and they too dont give a dam expert you to trace it up youself its disgusting. They dont care about you got your money so they dont care
While I've not had a package gone missing/lost from Yodel, I'm massively disappointed with this postal company and why or how they're still in business is anyone's guess. The drivers just throw the parcel to the lobby and then leave, and if you try to call customer service they'll just keep you hanging on until you or the machine decides to end the call.
Recently I had a parcel from Yodel and was given the option to do a survey, I clicked on very dissatisfied overall. I doubt that'll make any difference, though.
Typical Yodel:
He likely marked "Handed to home owner." when actually he threw it over the gate.
yodel delivered to me yesterday a free sample kit of MEZEAST wraps. could be that. scrap this reply I thought this thread was new not a year old.
