emwilson3008 this is done directly through Sony, no codes involved other than buying the discounted gift card code, so it would need to go active immediately.

This is normally for new customers only, those with existing accounts, or an account that has expired and you want to reuse, won't work. Unfortunately there aren't many offers available for loyal customers until Sony put out the occasional rare promotion (including Black Friday), it is purely a marketing strategy to get new customers to sign up so they pay full price the previous year like existing customers (like yourself) do. It wouldn't make profitable sense for them to give away cheap prices for existing customers - loyalty these days doesn't normally reward.

I gave up PSN plus membership and moved more of my gaming to PC where there is no monthly subscription but definitely a good price. Most of my PS4 games are either disc games or games I've bought very cheaply either on the PSN UK or PSN USA store. Almost none of the free games I got with PSN plus did I actually play. As online gaming is completely free on PC it made sense to move more gaming to that especially as I can also run emulators and customise existing games with new levels etc.
