The Rioja Reserva red wine serves a good balance between the fruit (cherries, black plums, ripe blackberries) and the clean nuances coming from the wood (clove, pepper, vanilla and coconut). The nose is further enriched by the aromas that develop during bottle ageing for this red wine. Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva red wine is smooth and attractively balanced on the palate with a long, lingering finish. This smooth Reserva red wine is garnet ruby red in colour, filled with the aromas of ripe berries and vanilla. Campo Viejo Reserva red wine is considered rounded and intensely full of fruity flavours such as cherry, black plum, and ripe, juicy blackberries. The intense aroma of this Reserva red wine is balanced with the oak characters of vanilla and cloves with a lingering finish. Bodegas Campo Viejo have been part of the history of winemaking in Rioja from the outset. Its origins date back to 1959 when two small Rioja wine cellars with a long tradition, Beristain y Ortiguela, joined forces to create Bodegas Campo Viejo. Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva is made using carefully selected grapes and vinified at a controlled temperature, this wine spends 18 months in oak casks and further 18 months ageing in bottle to round it off.
