Lumo is a new low cost train operator that launched in the UK at the end of October last year. They are part of the First group and offer low cost fares on the UK east coast between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh stopping at Stevenage, Newcastle, Morpeth which would be ideal if you want to get cheap flights and holidays from Luton airport and you live in the north east.
Book direct through Lumo and you can get fares from as low as £29.80 return / £14.90 one from London to Edinburgh and as low as £23.80 return / £11.90 one way from London to Newcastle. The best prices can be found by booking dates in May and June as you are booking in advance. You may also be able to get them cheaper still if you have a rail card. Have a play around with some dates and see what you can come up with and they do not charge any administration fees either.
⚠ On Saturdays and Sundays from 8th January to 27th March inclusive.
Network Rail will be carrying out important engineering works at various locations between London and Newcastle. As a result, Lumo will be unable to operate any services between Newcastle and London on these dates. We will be operating an amended service between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
