Choya - Ume Fruit Liqueur - Single Year

CHOYA SINGLE YEAR - The Choya Single Year is created from a traditional Japanese recipe by steeping ripe green Ume fruit in Shochu. This provides a distinctive taste that is smooth and sweet with an aroma of plums and herbs. The Single Year Umeshu is a blend of at least 3 ume liqueur batches all aged between 1 and 2 years.

BOTTLING NOTE - Superb Japanese Umeshu liqueur from the experts at Choya, made from a combination of the Nanko ume fruit (which is like a more acidic cousin of stone fruits such as plums and apricots) and sugar cane. This pairing brings a tremendous balance of syrupy sweetness and lip-puckering tartness – fab for sipping between courses, and a refreshing ingredient for adding zing to cocktails too.

CHOYA SPARKLING - You could also try a nice Choya sparkling. Mix 1 part Choya and 2 parts Soda in a highball glass. This can be served over crushed ice or on its own depending your preference.

THE HISTORY OF UMESHU - Umeshu is a traditional Japanese liqueur made from ume fruit. By ageing the whole fruit with the stone inside, you get the perfect balance between ume extract and alcohol. It takes at least one year of ageing to produce Choya Umeshu which ensures that essential ingredients can be fully extracted from the ume fruit providing authentic umeshu with the best possible taste & aroma every time.
