These are extremely basic cameras, the 44MP image resolution will be upscaled and completely pointless as its wastes battery, storage and processing time. The minimum 5MP resolution mentioned could be the real resolution although I saw a similar camera and the native resolution of the sensor was 8MP. Digital zoom is utterly pointless it just crops the image within the camera to the required zoom level, i.e. 2x digital zoom only uses 1/4 of the sensor resolution. CEX do a range of secondhand cameras online and you get a 2 year guarantee. You can get a fantastic Japanese camera from the 2005-2015 era for not a lot of money.
