No way this basic Celeron laptop ever sold for £999. This is clearly a fake original price in order to deceive customers about this reduction. This should give you red warnings about the seller. I have pretty much this laptop with an earlier Celeron which I bought off Amazon Warehouse for £45. The laptop looks identical it just has an older chipset. The keyboard is basic quality and the display is decent, speaker quality actually quite nice. It functions without issues. I would guess this laptop is worth around £200-230 at retail. It has the later Celeron processor. Yes they have added a 512GB SSD to beef up the storage of the basic 128GB eMMC storage plus they have probably put a 8GB Dimm in the slot which you would normally expect a 4GB Dimm to be placed in order to supplement the 4GB of memory on the board. I question how dual channel works with a disparity of 4GB for one memory channel and 8GB for the other memory channel. I suspect that means 4GB doesn't operate in dual channel mode so one third of the memory is operating half the speed. Of course more memory, more storage and a large IPS display need more power.
Mine is ok I get maybe 4-6hrs at best, I suspect this will be similar which is not hugely impressive for a Celeron laptop some Celeron laptops can double this or more but then they would have smaller TN displays. TN displays have less accurate colour, poorer viewing angles but faster response time and lower power consumption.
Overall I would say this is £100 too expensive.
