Considering the fact you will lose access to buying the huge amount of secondhand PS4 titles when you buy a PS5 digital edition plus ability to play DVDs, Blurays, Ultra Blurays etc. Feels like a false economy to me. The console has about 10 Teraflops of graphics performance. Decent but its not like the situation in the past where a playstation would have much more power than any PC near its price point. You can probably make a 500 pound PC now with 20-30 Teraflops of graphic performance plus cheaper software and no subscription required to play online gaming.

BonzoBanana I also prefer disc version but for some it's cheaper to buy digital. You cannot build a 500quid pc to beat a ps5 and many buy console to play in a single mode. Yes, some of your points are valid but in certain scenarios only.

SebK84 I think you can build a 500 pound PC to beat a PS5. You can get a RTX 3060 for about 200 pounds now best price and that is about 13 Teraflops that leaves you 300 pounds for the rest of it. You don't need the latest CPU to match PS5 CPU performance and it would be easy to have more storage and memory than PS5. You can get a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 plus motherboard for about 50 pounds from Aliexpress. A 650W PSU for sub 30 pounds etc. There is lots of scope to beat a PS5 within 500 pounds I think. Now that I think about though I would go for a Radeon based card so I could use Bazzite. There are a few videos on youtube showing you can beat a PS5 Pro for the same money with a PC build so I think to beat the original PS5 for 500 pounds is a much easier goal.
