Edit @3.18pm - Looks like the price is now increasing with demand, now £25.56!
Hi,
This looks like a price glitch / misprice to me!
The RRP is £69.99 and it's a new toy that's only been out a few months.
At £22.80 that's 67% off! Bargain!
In most shops it's at least £45, double this Amazon price!

Been checking the prices. Seems like the best price. Seen another £35 that’s the next cheapest I’ve just seen having a quick look about.
RebeccaUK Amazon is well known for changing prices on products several times a day according to market demands. It's called Dynamic Pricing. In this case demand will be being driven by my post, (probably now also being shared on other forums) with new sales pushing up the price.
It's hard to keep up!
Johnny
This is very good price, my daughter going to love this fire engine with truck. Thank you for sharing.
Great price and good find but hardly a glitch Johnny. It's £40.99 in Smyths Toys. We both know that RRP is a load of bull
As I am sure you must know the RRP is set by the manufacturer, not the retailer. So it’s not bull, it’s the RRP - over which Amazon (the retailer) has no control.
It is very rare for large new Playmobil toys (this one launched in December) to be this heavily discounted at Amazon - or anywhere else - so near to the launch date.
Interestingly, Amazon’s £40.98 'was price' is similar to Smyths Toy's current £40.99 price, but now of course Amazon's latest price is much much cheaper than Smyths'.
If it’s not a price glitch it’s certainly unusually cheap!
As another price reference point this toy costs £49.99 at The Entertainer, reduced from £69.99.
Don't hang about if you want one, the price keeps going up every few minutes!
Total nonsense again Dennab
As these images show, there are many "was prices" and showing only the 'was price' is not the best way to compare prices across retailers. The only way to compare discounts across retailers in a transparent way is to use the discount off the RRP. Why? Because the RRP is the only true constant. As you will be aware Amazon's 'was price' can change several times a day.
Like I said, if you read my post you will see I included more price information, not less, so that people could make an informed decision. That is the opposite of misleading.
Think again. Doing it your way would mean LD users were less well informed, and would not realise just how much cheaper this deal was at Amazon than at any other retailer.
You might also like to read the LD Guidelines about posting deals. 'Please include the discounted price and (if higher) the RRP.'
Before you waste the ASA's time, please don't forget to tell them that LD is not a retailer, and there is no 'Buy now' button on LD - and that every deal post on LD points directly to the product description at the retailer selling the product, which includes all the retailer's price information about the product they are selling.
In the case of my deal posts on LD, I often include additional price information to help consumers, such as the RRP, the price history, the price at other retailers, delivery costs, and more. That's called responsible, not irresponsible.
Bye for now!
studentgirl123 You're talking about a global retailer with automated systems controlling their pricing. It's not a glitch.
