Recommend if going to USA don't get kettle in your rooms. And hard to find decent tea. Thank you for sharing this.
Tonirlex the last time I stayed in New York I believe I had a kettle in the room, but I know if any female cabin crew stay over in any hotel, they wash their knickers in the kettle. Don’t know how true it is but since them I’ve taken my portable kettle with me, especially to America because the only place I’ve ever had a cup of tea that was a proper drinkable one was at the Hudson Harbour. So I always take a kettle, a nice sized mug that’s cheap so I can leave it if I like, a box of Tetley or Yorkshire teabags (you can take them down to the breakfast bar as well and have a nice cuppa… and some of those little milk pods or sachets (you can buy them from Amazon, dirt cheap) and sachets of sugar if that’s your jam. Our hotel last Christmas there was a coffee shop next door, and you could enter through a door in the foyer which saved you having to do outside to go through the sidewalk. So everyday my friend would go down the lift with our home mugs and a teabag in each one. Eventually they went from being confused to actually waiting for one of us to turn up for our cuppas! Advice for anyone going anywhere abroad… kettle, mugs, milk, sugar, salad cream, brown sauce and ketchup!
