How to save money at ASDA? 7 ways to save money on your ASDA shopping
Do you want to save money at ASDA? Latest Deals has selected seven ways to save money on your ASDA shopping, check them out below:
1. ASDA's quality guarantee
If you are not happy with your ASDA purchase because of its quality, you can ask for a refund. You can do that with your online purchases or with your in-store purchases. Depending on your case, you can get a refund and a £2 voucher.
2. ASDA’s smile vouchers
This is only available at the physical stores. ASDA staff carries around smile vouchers and depending on your interaction with them, you can get 50p off your shopping total. ASDA staff are trained to give to the customers that deserve them.
Some of the reasons you can get one are waiting at a till for too long and not being able to find the product you are looking for. To get one of these, make sure you are extra nice to the staff when letting them know you are not happy with your customer experience at the store.
3. ASDA’s wonky veggies box
ASDA was the first supermarket in the UK to sell wonky veggies boxes back in 2016. You can find these at the stores. A wonky veggies box will contain misshapen veggies, not losing anything in nutritional quality. These wonky veggies are much cheaper than the traditional ones, only missing on the aesthetical side. A box that usually would cost you £20, can be bought for only £3.50. Keep in mind that vegetables are seasonal.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you buy these boxes you are helping to avoid food waste. You also support seasonal products that are much more sustainable for the environment. You can help the planet while saving money!
4. ASDA’s coupons
ASDA accepts all the coupons you might have no matter how many, as long they are not expired. If you love couponing, ASDA can be your best friend! Make sure you always check our ASDA’s Latest Deals Page to get the best online coupons.
5. ASDA’s product refunds
ASDA has a wonderful policy of giving product refunds. When you are online shopping, you can complain about any faulty product no matter how small the issue is. Just go to your order and send the complaint and ask for a refund. This is usually processed within 24 hours.
ASDA also has a “try me, love me” policy, but this only applies to ASDA's own-brand products. If you've tried any ASDA own-brand food product and didn’t like it, you can ask for a refund and a replacement. Just make sure you keep the receipts and the packaging. You will need to ask for it in-store and return both to a team member.
6. ASDA’s yellow sticker discounts
ASDA also has yellow sticker discounts, which can save you tons of money. Most of these stickers can be found from early mornings to late evenings. In the chilled aisles, you'll have more luck in the early mornings. At the bakery, you will have more luck in the late evenings. British supermarkets also have shelves dedicated only to clearance products that are about to expire, so ask for them when you are at the store. Unfortunately, this only applies to in-store shopping.
7. ASDA’s food boxes starting at £15
ASDA has some food boxes available, and the cheapest one starts at £15. If you are on a tight budget this can be a good deal. Check out more about them here. “I like the fact that their stock of a particular type of product is huge. They stock more herbs, spices and seasonings than most other shops, their fresh meat isn't hiding fat under the label, their prices are usually 20p to 40p cheaper for the comparative item in the other 'big' stores and they're always re-stocking the shelves.”
We have gathered some of their opinions and listed below the positives and the negatives of shopping at ASDA. Keep in mind that the experiences can be different depending on their locations in the UK and if they are shopping in-store or online.

How good are ASDA stores?
According to Which.co.uk, ASDA has a 5.8 grade (out of 10) regarding the overall quality of its physical stores. ASDA’s customers believe that the store's layout is average and the stores' appearance could be better.
When customers are shopping at a local store, they have reported that the queuing time is longer than ideal. They also can’t find all the products they are looking for and sometimes ASDA staff availability and helpfulness is below expected. However, ASDA stores do have a good range of products available in general.
The survey says the overall quality of fresh products is also average and that the overall quality of own-label products could be improved.
The Latest Deals Supermarket Price Comparison tool has found ASDA is not the cheapest store nor the most expensive, so you can find a good value for money at reasonable prices. However, ASDA is failing on the sustainability aspect. Unfortunately, most of ASDA’s packaging is not recyclable and ASDA still uses lots of plastic to pack its products.
How good is ASDA online?
According to Which.co.uk, ASDA Online has a 6.5 grade (out of 10) regarding its overall quality. This shows that you are getting a better deal when you are shopping at ASDA online than at a physical store. Both websites and apps have good navigation and you can easily find the products you are looking for. Delivery slots are easily available, most of the time.
The survey says ASDA online also substitutes items without alerting you. You will only find out about the change when your delivery arrives or you are out to collect it. The good thing is that ASDA does refund you in full for any substitute product you aren't happy with.
The survey also found the overall quality of fresh products at ASDA online is below the in-store quality. If you receive any product too close to the expiration date, you can also complain and get a full refund.
Online customers also think that the overall quality of own-label products could be improved. In addition, ASDA delivery drivers have an excellent grade, making most of the customers happy with their services.
