What Do You like about ASDA?
Ask a Question
Hey! I would love to know what do you like about ASDA? Do you do your groceries in-store or online? Let me know about your shopping experience with ASDA!
p.s. This is for a money-saving guide I'm writing on a new area of the Latest Deals website coming soon. Any help would be much appreciated!
I used to shop there a lot as I can walk there. The prices are pretty good and yellow labels even better. They are not too good on monitoring covid rules though so I’m shopping at Sainsbury’s at the moment.
Hi Grannyclock thank you for your message . I am also prioritising the supermarkets that are more strict with the covid rules. All the best for you.
tamirescriscio thankyou. How do you find Asda for that? Ours is getting better but still allows whole families in.
I love their clothes! They are such good quality and terrific value.
I don't tend to do my shopping there as it is too far out the way for me but when my son needs something new then I will look online and get it delivered.
Hi MrsCraig thank you for you message. In my research, I found out that George has some of the best options for school uniforms. Do you agree?
tamirescriscio my son is only 2 years old so I've never had to buy him school uniform, but I have noticed from the ads on tv and scrolling through the website that they have some brilliant bargains on school uniform.
Agreed! Sainsbury's have something similar and I don't know why I wasn't using this years ago. There's never a queue and so much faster.
Tom You're a better man than me , I'm scared stiff of those "self checkouts " I was not cut out to be a check out operative ! Takes me an hour to buy a paper at the airport where you have to use them . Those were the days .
Golfforall if I can do it anyone can! It really is easy. I even go round with two gizmos using husband's nectar card and my own.
Grannyclock Have been tempted , as you get a Nectar points bonus or something at Sainsburys . I think I'll continue denying my incompetence and maintain its part of my campaign to save checkout jobs .
If you like ASDA , then buy an egift voucher from Topcashback https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/receive-2-extra-cashback-when-spend-5-via-topcashback
Members always seem to miss these deals - basically £2.10 free money on a £5 spend with todays deal which crops up every month . Morrisons and Sainsburys too .
Sadly too many members click "like" on the popular page (for the points ) without reading the deal or comments and so miss out on the occasional really good deal such as this one ☹.
tamirescriscio Sadly it was a deal for just one day (yesterday ) so members missed out on a "free £2" , I think we all use a supermarket ! Might be something to add to your guide though as Topcashback seem to do this promo every few weeks .
Maybe even worth mentioning the egift card sites such as Topgiftcards where you can get 1.5% to 2.5% cashback on a voucher redeemable at Asda, Morrisons , Tesco etc anytime .
Many of have work related benefit sites (mine is My Benefits) , or Armed forces veterans have the Defence discount service where supermarket e vouchers can be bought for 3% - £3.5 % discount ( so a £50 voucher to spend in your supermarket will cost you £48.50 ) - every little helps ! I believe Blue light cardholders also have access to purchase discounted supermarket e vouchers .
Golfforall Golfforall that's really good to know, I am certainly adding cash back as an opportunity to save money not only at Asda but other supermarkets. I will research more about work benefits as well. Thank you so much for you help! Have a good evening!
Golfforall we did this on Monday. I then went shopping and used the vouchers with cashback and nectar points deals.
Hi nice to see you tamirescriscio I only know few LD team members thanks for this topic I mostly do my grocery shopping from in store some time I do order from George which I collect them from in store. now there more facilities available in store for paying our shopping like one side for basket other side for trolley and scan and go to now they got less staff on tills and it’s save time too. doing grocery shopping online bad thing with Asda is when you’re add everything in basket after signing in your account most of item goes out of stock in basket with messege no stock available for your chosen post Code. it’s happen to me so many time especially those things with offers.i like to do shopping in store.I hope my comment will help a bit.take care have a nice day
Golfforall Thanks for that i did seen now but it’s been long time I stopped using top cash back site they did sent email yesterday they missing me I hope £2 saving will help someone.take care have a good day here my email pic from topcash back
Hi Jasmine111 thank you for your lovely message and nice to e-meet you! I had the same problem with Asda. I love their exclusive apple greek yogurt and when I see available, my hopes go up and then when I checkout, I usually find them unavailable. It's truly annoying. I hope they fix this. Have a lovely day and you certainly helped!
tamirescriscio Thank you so much for replying and your kind words I glad you’re happy with my comment.nice to talk to you have a wonderful evening
Thank you PhilipMarc. Don't we all love a massive supermarket with nearly everything!
Their supermarkets are very big and they normally have reasonable priced fuel also. I am not a fan of Asda though.
Tom the main reason I don’t shop there is because I’m not a fan of their own brand range, I don’t think it is very nice compared to other supermarkets own branded products. The meat from Asda’s always seems to be really poor quality also. That is enough to put me off!
I rarely shop there but just before Christmas I managed a click and collect shop. Everything was fine so need to criticise.
I like ASDA, but only buy food & drink from them. My nearest store is further away than other supermarket chains, so I only shop there around once a month. They have a lot of items that I don't see elsewhere in my area and I also get their own brand food items. I do all of my supermarket food shopping in-store. I only really order food & drink online if a product is exclusive, limited edition, an unusually good deal or I'm sending it as a gift.
very interesting. ACR what own brand food items you usually buy there? I also really like limited edition and exclusive products. The supermarkets here can be really creative.
tamirescriscio I like their Extra Special range - I always get some Lemon Yogurt Curd yogurts. I grab a few snacks, such as a sandwich, pasty or custard slices.
RegularComper90 Soon I will post about Aldi, I hope to see you there to comment
tamirescriscio Lynx Gold Deodorant & Body Spray Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla - it keeps the flies away
I'm sure all supermarkets vary in different locations but I do prefer Asda. It was my shop of choice before the lockdowns - I've used all the other delivery options since.
I like the fact that their stock of a particular type of product is huge. They stock more herbs, spices and seasonings than most other shops, their fresh meat isn't hiding fat under the label, their prices are usually 20p to 40p cheaper for the comparative item in the other 'big' stores and they're always re-stocking the shelves. Down side since the lockdown? Delivery slots are not always available and Sainsburys are. That must indicate that Asda is a preferred shop by customers. (I've used Sainsburys a lot more for deliveries in the past year but I have paid dearer for the items than I would normally choose to )
It's also worth mentioning that the refund request on the 'short date' or 'damaged' delivery goods is easy to navigate and the cash back is swiftly processed.
sunny101 thank you so much for your detailed comment. It's very helpful! I agree with the refund requests comment. I also find Sainsbury more expensive. Unfortunately, it's the closest option to me and the one I have been using during lockdown. Hopefully things will get better
Out of all the supermarkets I dislike Asda the most, everyone seems aggressive, angry, does not follow social distancing, runs in to you with the trolley, loud kids and the list can go on. The only good thing are some of the prices
ch7leach Thank you for your comment! I am sorry to read you had a bad experience at Asda. Try Asda's online shopping. It could be a better experience.
I like the selection of products they have, and the prices are usually cheaper than Tesco and Sainsbury’s. But Asda does feels a bit ‘wild’ - it can be a bit messy, like the discounters, and the staff really don’t give a damn...though that doesn’t bother me , as it feeds into my Hunter gatherer instincts lol
hspexy sunny101 and hspexy thank you for your comments about your adventures when shopping at Wild Asda. rsrsrsrs
