Aldi Teams Up with British Brewers for Unique Eco-Friendly Beers
- Aldi collaborates with Toast Brewing and Freedom Brewery to tackle food waste
- New beers made with surplus bread and wonky fruit
- Available in UK Aldi stores from 11th November
In an innovative move, Aldi has joined forces with two British brewers, Toast Brewing and Freedom Brewery, to launch exclusive beers aimed at reducing food waste. Hitting Aldi shelves across the UK on 11th November, these new offerings include the Another Round Session IPA (£1.99, 440ml) crafted with surplus Tiger bread, and the Misfits Summer Fruits (£1.49, 440ml) brewed using leftover berries and odd-shaped fruits.
The project aims to save approximately 4,000 loaves of bread and nearly a tonne of fruit annually from going to waste. This sustainable initiative follows a successful collaboration with Freedom Brewery in 2021, while Toast Brewing makes its debut with Aldi through this partnership.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting its positive environmental impact. Freedom Brewery's Matt Willson also praised the collaboration, emphasizing how the new beer turns potential waste into delicious flavors. Louisa Ziane of Toast Brewing added, "We’re excited to partner with Aldi for the first time on an IPA that’s as kind to the planet as it is to beer lovers’ taste buds."
Aldi continues to enhance its sustainability efforts, reflecting its commitment to long-term climate goals by aligning with the Net-Zero Standard.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "It's great to see big retailers like Aldi taking tangible steps towards sustainability through creative partnerships.
