How To Find Cheap Christmas Chocolates
Chocolate is always a staple at Christmas, whether it’s for yourself to enjoy, to give as a gift, or to share amongst friends at Christmas parties. You should never pay full price for Christmas chocolates, as there are always plenty of deals to be found if you follow these top tips.
AMAZON
When it comes to food, Amazon may not be the first place that comes to mind. However, you can find lots of Christmas favourites, including Lindt, Ferrero Rocher, Cadbury, Galaxy, Thorntons and more.
If you’re a fan of the classic Christmas tubs, such as Celebrations, Heroes, Quality Street and Roses, you can find deals on big 2kg+ boxes that are great value for money. If you’ve got company over the Christmas period and think you’ll go through them, they’re worth a look.
Other benefits of buying from Amazon is the convenience. Unlike online supermarkets, there isn’t a minimum order spend and if you have Prime you can get lots of items with free express shipping.

SUPERMARKET DEALS
If you’re buying Christmas chocolates from a supermarket, it should always be on some kind of deal. In the weeks and months leading up to the big day, every major supermarket will have different offers on, so you should be able to find your favourite on a discount.
For example, recently Iceland had a buy one get one free offer on Cadbury Advent Calendars, making them £1.25 each - cheaper than Aldi.
For some supermarkets, you'll need a loyalty card to get the best deals. For example, Tesco and Sainsbury's have special Clubcard and Nectar prices. The bulk of their offers now require being part of their schemes, so it's worth joining up if you haven't already, particularly as we're approaching the most expensive time of the year.

CHOCOLATE DUPES
If you’re on a budget and don’t mind opting for own brand, you can find excellent dupes of popular chocolate brands.
Aldi has perhaps the best selection of chocolate dupes, with alternatives to Guylian, Hotel Chocolat and Baileys. For example, their Ballycastle Chocolate & Irish Cream Truffles are inspired by the Baileys Truffles.
CHEAP STOCKING FILLERS
When it comes to stocking fillers, Aldi’s own brand chocolate is particularly good value. For example, their Chocolate Coins are 85p. They work out 15p cheaper than, for example, Poundland’s £1 own brand Coins, and you actually get more with Aldi’s pack.
They also have Giant Chocolate Coin for 88p and a Milk Chocolate Santa figure for £1.49. Things like this are ideal stocking fillers or as extras in Christmas Eve boxes.
TK Maxx
TK Maxx has officially opened their Christmas shop, and you can find everything from festive homeware to seasonal snacks. Their selection of Christmas chocolates is also great, particularly if you’re thinking of gifting.
Similarly to Poundland, their online selection is limited, so to find the best items you’ll need to look in store. You can find selection boxes from top brands including Guylian, Lindt, Cachet and more.
PRICE COMPARISON
When you buy anything, either online or in store, it’s always a good idea to compare prices. Christmas chocolates are no exception, and I recommend using a price comparison tool to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
To find the best supermarket deals, download the Latest Deals app. There’s a free supermarket price comparison tool you can use. Just search for a product and it will show you the prices at every major supermarket, starting with the cheapest.
For example, at the time of writing this guide, we compared the price of a bag of Maltesers Reindeer Chocolate Mini Treats. The cheapest price was £1.04 available at Aldi, and the most expensive was £1.35 for exactly the same item at Ocado.
